| Just wanted everyone to let us all know if you use a low carb product that we may not know that exists. There are so many new ones coming on the store shelves these days and I am always looking for new ones to try. Even if you order online for your products, let us know which ones you like best so we can try it to. |

| Gee, I'm finding LC products are disappearing from the grocery shelves every month. And, I guess that's okay - it's better to stick with natural foods anyway. Still, the product I miss lately is Heinz 1-Carb Ketchup. Besides being an excellent ketchup, it was a great base for salad dressings, barbeque sauces, and a nice added flavor in soups. If you see any stray bottles on the shelf at your grocery, snap it up!

| I looked at the Heinz website, and they are touting a reduced sugar ketchup that has one gram of carbs per serving. 75% less sugar. I'd have to look at the package to see what's in it before I buy it. I actually found "sugar free Coffeemate" with corn syrup in it! If it's sugar free, it should mean NO SUGAR! At least they aren't calling this ketchup sugar free! Anyway, it's probably going to replace the 1-carb ketchup, because I really think manufacturers are getting away from calling things low carb, and are trying to appeal to both the calorie conscious as well as the low carb people.

| Terry, I am still able to buy the Heintz 1 carb ketchup and I do buy several bottles when I see it. I try to maintain an inventory of about 20 bottles on my low carb products pantry shelves. It seemed to disappear from the shelves when the retailer's rush to put out low-carb products bubble burst. However, at least the ketchup has started making a comeback and reappearing on a few store shelves. I find in at Wal-mart and also in the "Health Food" section of a couple of stores.

| Henry, I used to buy several bottles of Heins at a time, too, and I still have a few bottles in the pantry. Nita, thanks for the heads up on the Heinz "reduced sugar" ketchup replacing the 1-carb label. My main market lately only carries the reduced sodium and regular heinz ketchup. Maybe I'll put in a request at the supermarkets customer service desk to see if they will start stocking that again. You think with all the diabetics now days, it would just be an automatic thing.

| Aloha Ya'll, New to this forum, but well familiar with Atkins. I use konnyaku shirataki noodles. Made from a root, almost all fiber and resembling mung bean noddles. Available in grocery stores catering to asian communities or by ordering online. Very helpful in replacing noodles for soups or stir fries. CC |

| I've used those noodles, too. They are a nice change of pace from cutlets and the like.

| I haven't been able to find those noodles in any of the markets near me and I just haven't wanted to order them on line..I would like to try them one of these days though. My favorite LC product and actually the only one I really use is Fiberfit sweetener from netrition. I use the powdered one. It's also available in a liquid. It is splenda in a fiber base. I love it.

QUOTE] Another option for "noodles" is to take Napa Cabbage, shred finely into long shreds, and "sear" in skillet with your favorite oil or butter. Don't sear to black but quick fry. I've enjoyed this with stir fry of chicken or shrimp with a few vegetables, bean sprouts and spices on top. This cabbage cooked quick has a much subtler taste than conventional cabbage and was very enjoyable.

| Henry...I am in Santee which is in the east part of San Diego. Thanks so much for your willingness to help me find these noodles! Hi Cajon....thanks for the tip about the cabbage "noodles." I haven't done it with napa cabbage but i have used regular cabbage and I do really like it for "noodles." I really am curious about the shirataki noodles though.

| If you can handle Dreamfields pasta, I found that the linguine makes great noodles for soup. I break them up into half and then half again, and they make wonderful soup noodles, especially for chicken soup. And a little bit goes a long, long way, so what might be normally one serving of pasta can be noodles for an entire huge pot of soup. There aren't a lot of low carb products that I use, other than Dreamfields pasta, occasionally - Carbquik, again, occasionally - Calorie Countdown milk, and low carb ketchup. Everything else, except for the artificial sweeteners, is just plain old food. Well, I also use the sf syrups, and the calorie and carb free Walden Farms salad dressings, but they aren't just low carb, they are also low calorie and fat free. One of the best bangs for your low carb buck are black soybeans. High fiber, low carb, versatile in so many dishes.
