quote:
Over the course of the study, they consumed an extra 25,000 calories. That should have added up to about seven pounds. But for some reason, it did not.

Here's a link for the same story, I think, but on CBS. Yahoo didn't work for me either. This link should.

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/...in540776.shtml

"Dr. Samuel Klein of Washington University, the obesity organization's president, called the results "hard to believe" and said perhaps the people eating more calories also got more exercise or they were less apt to cheat because they were less hungry. "

Yup. Less hungry. Yay for ketosis!

"Greene said she can only guess why the people getting the extra calories did so well. Maybe they burned up more calories digesting their food."

I was thinking, maybe it's not the calories alone, maybe it's the TYPE of food being consumed that promotes fat burn??? I mean, take 100 calories from spinach and 100 calories from bread, and only one has some fiber and minerals that aid in digestion. The other one has been bleached of minerals and fiber and may not even leave the body. I'm no scientist but...am I right?

And isn't true that the calories of green veggies are mostly burned while being chewed on?
A rumor I heard...
