| Although I agree with the author that a stone age type diet is better for people and am glad that it's starting to get the attention it deserves, he misses the boat somewhat as follows: 1. He praises the diet as low fat, ignoring the fact that paleo-man ate organ meats, animal fat and wild eggs which are high in fat. 2. He praises the diet without mentioning that it is low-carb. 3. He states that we should forget Atkins and other fad diets, when Atkins is a low-carb diet which is almost exactly the same as the diet that he is praising (Atkins allowing dairy products and grains, later in maintenance) making the case once-again for Atkins-phobia running rampant in the UK. Heaven forbid that we advocate the Atkins diet, but paleo-eating is ok because it isn't Atkins. We have a long way to go, but at least we are heading in the right direction. kateryna Apr-15-03 226/200/126 (lean-ing towards NeanderThin) You can only be young once, but you can be immature forever! |
