No big surprize there!!! And isn't it alarming to know that Adult Onset Diabetes is showing up in children as young as 6 yrs old, too?

My 5 year old grandson has been diagnosed with ADHD. I gave my stepdaughter a list of foods to avoid and what to feed him. When she follows it, it's like he's been put on Ritalin. He's the calmest kid in the room. I am getting them started on Kefir (home brewed) too, which will hopefully get rid of the loads of yeast he has floating around in his little body. Hopefully S-D will recognize the damage their diets of pop, fries and chicken nuggets is doing to them. It's a process and the more I talk to her about it, the more she gets it. She has a long way to go though.

My 5 yr. old grandson loves grandma's kefir cream cheese. We make it a tea party and dip apple slices in it. Hope to catch the 2 yr. old next visit. Then to get my son started in brewing it for himself and them(he's a part-time single dad now, sadly).

Their main diet is Wendy's chicken nuggets and a baked potato(and I'm not kidding, it's almost everyday). Mom is just too busy and she also doesn't believe in low carb for anybody even though she has seen aa drastic change in me. She is a low fat gal, right now. Last visit, my older grandson said "You're stronger than Grandma ******. She has a bad back and bad knees and can't lift me or *****. How old are you?" I hate to tell you but that made my day. I've been trying to get the other grandma to follow me into lc because she has so many physical ailments that I know would be helped by lc. She is 6 yrs. older than me though (58) but I still think it would help her.

We definitely have to change the way our children and grandchildren eat. I feel very responsible about that. I just can't make that old garbage for them anymore(cookies, candy, etc.). I'm bringing lc to visit at Christmas.

Good for you, Joyce and Barb!!

This is such a saddening trend. I know that I have the healthiest kids in our church. Sure, they have allergies -- but I think it is just that we are aware of them and others aren't -- but they RARELY get the flu or colds. The only time they do is after they have been carbed up!

    Blessings!
