Webmaster's Note: I'm supplying these press releases as info on the industry, not as recommendations (or criticisms) of the products mentioned.

When evaluating new products for inclusion into your diet, READ THE LABELS AND INGREDIENT LIST and ask yourself:
1. is this REALLY low carb??
2. IS THIS HEALTHY???

Always remember that just because a product says "low carb" doesn't make it a free food, and it doesn't mean it's good for you!

Calling Carb Counters to the Dairy Aisle

Carb Freedom(TM) Yogurt Is a Nutritious Addition to Low-Carb Lifestyles

LE MARS, Iowa, March 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Did you know that one of the most nutritious foods available has been innocently hiding in supermarket dairy cases? The National Dairy Council says that yogurt lowers the risk of osteoporosis, hypertension and certain cancers. However, it has been eliminated from low-carb lifestyles because of its carbohydrate content. New Blue Bunny(R) Carb Freedom(TM) Yogurt is an excellent way for carb counters to reap the nutritional benefits of yogurt while watching their waistlines.

Carb Freedom's four tantalizing flavors -- Strawberry, Raspberry, Peach and Vanilla Crème -- are sure to please the palates of all carb counters. Carb Freedom does not contain added sugars and is sweetened with Splenda(R), the revolutionary no-calorie, no-carb sweetener. With 90 calories, three grams of fat, five grams of net carbs and 20 percent of the recommended daily value of calcium per six-ounce serving, Carb Freedom Yogurt can be a nutritious component of a low-carb lifestyle.

Carb Freedom Yogurt is delicious enough to be enjoyed alone, but try these unique combinations for variety:

-- Mix Carb Freedom Yogurt with low-carb fruits such as strawberries,
raspberries and blueberries.

-- Add chopped walnuts, pecans or macadamia nuts to your favorite Carb
Freedom Yogurt flavor for a crunchy treat.

-- Blend Carb Freedom Vanilla Creme Yogurt and peanut butter to make a
creamy spread for celery.

Blue Bunny Carb Freedom(TM) and Low-Carb Lifestyles

Blue Bunny's Carb Freedom Yogurt is an ideal addition to a low-carb lifestyle because:

- It has no added sugar. Carb-counters steer clear of sugar because of
its high carbohydrate content. Carb Freedom Yogurt is made with no-
calorie, no-carb Splenda(R) brand sweetener, so it tastes sweet but
doesn't contain the added carbs.

- It is low in net carbs. Net carbs are what low-carb consumers look for
because they are the carbs that impact blood glucose levels. Net carbs
are figured by subtracting fiber, sugar alcohols and glycerine from total
carbohydrates. Carb Freedom Yogurt contains five grams of net carbs per
serving.

- It is an excellent source of calcium. The United States Department of
Agriculture says that Americans are getting only half of the recommended
three servings of dairy needed daily. A majority of carb counters are
included in this population because they steer clear of dairy products
and their carb count. One serving of Carb Freedom Yogurt offers 20
percent of the recommended daily value of calcium and is low in net
carbs.

Carb Freedom Yogurt is available wherever your favorite Blue Bunny products are sold. Find your local Blue Bunny retailer at www.bluebunny.com .

I have one of these yogurts every night, are they saying there are more than the five carbs listed? It doesnt say net carbs on the container. I assumed they have five total carbs. If its five total carbs I can handle that, But I want to know if there are more carbs lurking in that little container.

Good disclaimer, Andrea. I, for one, appreciate seeing these press releases here so I can keep up with what's being offered. There's plenty of information all over this site to help us decide what does, and doesn't, fit in with our individual plans. Thanks!
