Default Natural Decaf Coffee

This is interesting.

But, I like the "buzz" from caffeine.

I'd be interested, but I wonder how expensive it will be compared to "unnaturally" decaffinated coffee when it comes to market.

I miss the buzz, but overall I feel better without 4 or 5 triple latte's a day I have a cup, though, usually in the afternoon, when I'm really, really dragging.

If it tastes as good as "leaded," it would be great. We would have a choice. Since turning into a full-hog coffee-junkie, I've found myself jonesing at night before bed.

I may be wrong, but I don't think there's much difference in strains of coffea arabica. Most of the variety of flavor in different regional coffee comes from the way it's grown and cured, but it's all coffea arabica species.

I'd like to know why they can't do the same thing with tobacco plants, i.e., make a nicotine-free tobacco plant.

Because if they made a nicotine-free cigarette, use of it would be non-habit-forming. As it stands now, the tobacco companies bank on the fact that their product is habit-forming, thus ensuring more and more sales.

Without the habit-forming product, they wouldn't have a "have-to-have-it" clientele, thus, they'd have less sales.

That's just my two cents -- and I'm a smoker, too.

There's still good decaf out there right now. Try the 8 o'clock brand whole beans.

I used to drink decaf. I can't say I ever enjoyed it as much as I do the stuff I'm drinking now. It always tasted and smelled a little bit dead.

It is even worse for decaffeinated tea. I LOVE Lipton's tea. Actually, it's the only tea I do love. But Lipton decaf is like drinking pencil dust mixed with water. You can't even squint and pretend it's real tea.

About the nicotine... If it weren't a political non-starter, I've always thought it would cool to pass a law that would gradually lower the nicotine levels in American cigarettes each year until it eventually reached zero. Sort of wean everybody off of it slowly.

I don't smoke, but I've lived with smokers most of my life. I know how defensive smokers can get about the subject, so I'm not militant.

The thing is, as nice as the caffeine buzz may be, it causes you to release cortisol, which leads to weight gain in your abdomen -- Which Nobody Wants!
