| Sounds like they are trying to create a trend rather than ride the one that's already here. Doesn't sound like good business practice to me,.

| ok, this got me..."Consumers will be looking for better balance, for enough sugar, at a level that's healthy, and for healthy unsaturated fats," uh, what does "enough sugar" mean. i haven't heard of anybody with health problems because they don't get a healthy amount of sugar! and sugar's not the new villan anyway. sugar is a very old villian!

| I use the Slimfast low-carb shakes occasionally - I think they provide pretty good nutrition, they're a good source of potassium and fiber, and I like the taste. But REGULAR Slimfast shakes contain about 35 grams of sugar, so half that would still be more sugar than I eat in a week. As for the bars, meals, or other Slimfast products of any variety or version, I employ the proverbial 10-foot pole philosophy. Sky Atkins since 8/02 196/144/under 150 |

| oh, puhhleeeze! This new line promotes a "diet" with 125 carbs a day?! And who is going to take seriously their claim that this new diet promotes whole foods such as fruits and vegetables, when this company is well know for a 'diet' that proposes a shake for breakfast, a shake for lunch and a sesible dinner??? Sorry, but anyone who buys into this, does not have my sympathy. Well, maybe just a little of my sympathy, but not very much! |

| but they're talking about the optima plan, NOT the slimfast low carb plan. The low carb shakes only have 2 net carbs and then you can eat a meat and a several vegetable dishes for dinner. I follow it on days I'm on the run and I end up with about 17-20 carbs. I'm losing weight on it and feeling much better. I hate to cook for breakfast and lunch and I'm often on the go anyway. They even say in this article that optima is a middle ground. |
