Default Today's Success

My success today is eating back on plan.
I have had a 1/4 cup of cottage cheese for breaki and two nice peices of chicken for lunch.
The reason this is a success is because I was so off plan this weekend that I was on another planet.
And, instead of beating myself to a pulp and using it as an excuse to never succeed, I have gone back on plan.
Might not sound like much to some, but this is a break through for me and the way I think about this as a WOL instead of a diet!

Mab, I consider that a fabulous success story, because we both know it's about way more than what you ate this weekend or today.

This is a switch that can get flipped in your head that can make all the difference between getting disgusted with yourself and giving up or moving ahead and beyond the struggles to a way of eating that's just a part of your everyday life.

In fact, I always find it especially encouraging when I hear about people find that place that, at one time, would have caused them to just throw in the towel, and moving beyond it. To me, it's the crossroads between temporary and permanent, and it's a joy to see people traverse it successfully.

Good going, Mab! I know you can do this, and I'm glad we get to share your journey with you.

Peace be with you, sister.

Thanks for the encouragement! This site has really helped me understand that this is a journey and not a race. Not an easy lesson when you just might be a little bit stubborn....

Mab, you've taken that big step - to the realization that the occasional slip is just that - just a slip. Getting back on plan immediately is the secret to success in sticking with your way of eating. Pretty soon you'll be so accustomed to being on plan that any slip will be that rare, once in a blue moon event, and you'll just shrug it off as one of those things, no matter, you're on plan for the long haul, let that slip go by and be gone.

Good deal, Mab.

I can grok the stubborn thing.

It really kicks in when you turn the corner to "yeah, well this is how I do it. ... and how's that other stuff workin' for you?"

It's strong stuff.

Starting day 3 on plan!
Unfortunately, I got on that pesky scale today and I am up 3 pounds. Maybe I am down from my bingeing? I think that is what I will tell myself!
