Congrats to all who passed by the sugar and the troubles that go along with it! It does get easier over time, and as Henry noted, as folks get accustomed to what you do and don't eat, they eventually adjust and quit offering you ice cream and pound cake. At least, that's been my experience. There may be a few hard-core sugar pushers, but for the most part, they figure it out.Mab, your beloved cottage cheese saved you! ![]() |

| A lot of us find that when we do indulge in sugar (or starch) that it's not as good as we remember it being in the past. We eat, think it's going to be great, and then are disappointed that it's not as great as we remember. Or just way too sweet. And definitely not satisfying. I find that it's usually not worth it to indulge. Who needs disappointment in their life? Not me! |

| Whenever I eat candy or salty junk foods now my tongue is so sensitive that it hurts to eat the next day. Even my tongue is use to this healthy way of eating. |

| Nice choice Lisa!! When you eat out, you can usually find a l/c option or two. Sometimes you have to be creative and ask for substitutions or deletions, like "no bun", but the choice is yours. You are in control, all you have to do is exercise that control. BTW, I find it feels good when I exercise that control and that reinforces my decision to follow this WOE..

| Good job Lisa! Woo woo! My success is trying two new recipes so far this week. Doing a new one again tonight. For me the creativity with food keeps me going so I don't feel like I am having the same things time after time!

| Great job Lisa Chantel that is a great idea with the weights...way to keep focused you are doing great. YAY Mab on the new recipes. I love to try new recipes but am always scared that nobody will like them. I love when I discover a new one that is very yummy....Keep trying new stuff !! As for me...my success is that I didn't eat anything when I got home from work this morning....I really have wanted to get out of this habit forever...I work 3rd shift and I eat my Meal / snack or whatever it is I bring to work at like 2-3 am. So when I get home at 7:30am I have been eating a little something, whether it is a hb egg, or a couple of slices of bacon or a hot dog or something...it's always LC but still...I don't want to be eating at that time as I go to bed about 8am. I am learning to have something small when I wake up about 2pm as we have supper at 6pm and I want to eat as a family not them eating and me eating alone later just cause I am not hungry. SO that is my success for the day....

My success for today was eating a chicken salad instead of a steak sub with my friends something on a Friday night I normaly would have thought nothing of doing . The weight idea is terrific Chantel and I need to incorporate new recipes in my menu Mab. Keep up the great work everyone. ![]() Lisa R |

| You know, long-term success is built from the kind of thing we're talking about here...lots of small, everyday choices that support your goals. Y'all are doing fabulous! Mab, I've been trying more new recipes, too! Having new things to test out really helps me a lot, because I don't get bored and I feel like I'm having a lot of variety and carb-friendly treats, too. |

| My big success today was that I went to a wedding shower and I didn't eat cake or have any of the homemade mints and candies that they had. My friends mom made all the stuff from scratch and I have had her cooking and baking and OMG was it hard to pass it all up cause I know how good it was. I had fun and I held my ground even when people were offering me cake. ![]()

Melissa. Eating is all about choices. Each time you make a good choice, especially when bad choices are everywhere, that is a success.
