| Have you been guilty of looking at others your own age and thinking...surely I cannot look that old? You may enjoy this story....... While waiting for my first appointment in the reception room of a new dentist, I noticed his certificate, which bore his full name. Suddenly, I remembered that a tall, handsome boy with the same name had been in my high school class some 30 years ago. Upon seeing him, however, I quickly discarded any such thought. This balding, grey-haired man with the deeply lined face was way too old to have been my classmate. After he had examined my teeth, I asked him if he had attended the local high school. "Yes," he replied. When did you graduate?" I asked. He answered, "In 1971. Why?" "You were in my class!" I exclaimed. He looked at me closely and then asked, "What did you teach?"

| Too funny! ![]() I like to believe I look younger than I really do, and incidents like this put me in my place, like when ds's preschool teacher calls me "ma'am".

| I find it odd sometimes when people older than me call me Ma'am... but it is more out of respect.. I wish i could associate w/ this more asides from the fact that i am only 25... and still have people say i look 17 bothers me.. i will one day appreicate being thought to be younger than i look..

| I got carded going into a club when I was 28, but those days are long gone! I just really started coloring my hair to hide the grey recently. DD is going into 1st grade this year and I don't want to be the "old Mom". (I had her when I was 33!) When I went to my 15 Year High School reunion, I was pregnant. Yikes! But, some of my classmates already had wrinkles! AAAK! We were 32-33 then. I just turned 40 in March and don't have any wrinkles yet, probably from keeping them "plumped" out! When I get to my goal weight, I bet they show up!
