I purchased 2 boxes (instead of my usual 1) of CarbSmart Fudgecicle-type ice cream bars at Kroger. They were advertised on sale for 2/$6.00. The regular price is $4.59 each.
When I got home and checked my receipt, I notice that both boxes rang up at regular price. I called the store, and they checked the price...sure enough, they had scanned wrong.

I brought my receipt in the next afternoon, we double-checked the item, and I got my money back: $6.18. According to Kroger policy, if an item scans wrong and you bring it to their attention, you get 1 of the item free. So, I got $4.59 and the other $1.59 that I was over-charged on the second box.

I bought a rotisserie chicken with the money instead of buying 2 more boxes of the bars. I shoulda bought more bars....DH is eating them like they're candy. He is out of his regular ice cream and does not get the whole concept of portion control!

The moral of the story is: don't bring your 6 yr. old shopping with you so you can remember to check the receipt BEFORE you leave the store. Much easier to make adjutments this way. AND do check your receipt....I got 12 bars for $3.00 because I noticed the error. Keep your eyes open!

Wow, i didnt know kroger does that. Farm Fresh does the same thing, I purchased a box of cereal there and the scan price didnt match their advertised price and they gave me the box for free. So i saved 4.99 that day, but the reg. price was 5.99. Im glad i did save because will theyre ok, i didnt think they were worth paying that much for them.
