Cool Smilies or not?

Hi!

I just was curious about the type of folks who use smileys. This has nothing to do with anything except my insatiable thirst for knowledge

So, here's the deal: I want to know if you are a smiley user and if you are creative, as in artistic type stuff. Or if they aren't related at all.

Give me your vote :great:

I love the smilies. I am always trying to find a way to stick one in my writing.

I still haven't found a use for some like :bellydanc

I think they are a fun way to add to a post. I am artistic and creative but I don't know if that has anything to do with it or if it's that I am just silly.

:silly:

HI all,

I always use "quick reply" because I like to refer back to earlier posts and if I do that with the "post reply" box I will lose everything I typed. ARRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!

I can't figure out a way to use smilies in "quick reply," probably because there aren't any there, so I try to be colorful in my writing and use of punctuation. I love to see the smilies others use. Maybe there's something I'm not getting about how to use the reply function.

OK, Alice, here's how to do smileys from the quick reply box (which, btw, I always use as well because I like to look at previous posts too! )

First of all from this window, there is a box down below that says "posting rules." In it is a link called "smilies." Click that link and it opens a different window. In that window are all the smileys Andrea has programmed into our board. All you have to do is type the code for whatever smilie you are wanting. For instance if you want to make a confused face, you type : confused : (without the spaces) and you get

See??? : idea :

OK, Sharron, I'll try, and we'll see if it works :eyes:

Now I'm really :hot: because for this one I used copy/paste!

So now I'll post and see if it looks :butterfly, but it sure is a lot more work.

Guess who :bellydanc

P.S. I'm more creative/artistic with words than I am with visual images.

Here's another way I've always wanted to try.

I think it's working. After I wrote in the quick reply box I pushed "go advanced" and I got to use push button smilies :silly:

By the way....... If you go to "post reply" instead if the quick reply box, you will filnd all the old posts further down the page. You can refer to them quite easily that way.
