Among my treasures.....candles, bath stuff (I have a big garden tub I enjoy), a box set of George Strait's Greatest Hits, a beautiful real leather handbag with cowhide and studs.....GEORGEOUS! Also, a giftcard to Bed, Bath and Beyond, a jogging suit, a mini-chopper, a "Dr.Phil" Day-at-a-time calendar, a chip-n-dip tray, some western decor, and lots of other neat stuff.

I got to spend some time with some family members I don't get to see much.....it only takes a little while to get reconnected. It's great fun and I do look forward to it, but I am also somewhat glad when it's all over!

gilley, it sounds like you made quite a haul.....did hubby make it back in time? I hope so!

well, I love my family and enjoyed spending time with them, but all I got was the digital camera that hubby actually gave me a week ago. so, I didn't get ANYTHING to open today. And I work hard to get special little gifts for everyone.

so -- I'm going shopping next week and get all the little things I told them I wanted and didn't get for myself cause i figured I would be getting them. Sorry, it sounds selfish, and I don't mean to -- but I'm a little bummed.

I TOTALLY understand MK. Had to remind DH for the twentieth time that I wanted a 6 qt crockpot - actually asked a couple days ago if there would be anything under the tree for me. He is sweet and finally made sure the crock pot was there. I shouldn't have pushed the issue though because he bought me a beautiful ring to commemorate our 20th anniversary a couple of weeks ago.

BTW, the crockpot came with a mini 1 qt crockette for making sauces, dips, etc. I made an lc artichoke dip in it today - yum.

My best moment was last night when my 8 yr old granddaughter opened the "baby Annabelle" we got her (it does everything including move her lips and make sucking sounds when you give her a bottle). She wouldn't put that baby down the rest of the evening. I was so glad to have it for her. Ordered it through WalMart.com a week ago Tuesday. It arrive 1-1/2 hours before she did Christmas eve - nerve racking!

And my 11 yr old gd-daughter loved the clothes I got her - and she's picky. Made me feel really good.

Had a wonderful trip with two of my three granddaughters (one was sick and had to stay home - poor thing) to see my family earlier in the week. Its a 3-1/2 hr drive but the girls were good and we really had loads of fun together. It was a great bonding time and I loved it.

Food Processor from DH
A decorative Mists of Dreams humidifier--from DH and DD
Dress Shirt in Teal Green-amtches my new sweater perfectly
Nebraska Christmas ornament
Bracelet form my brother in the brother sister drawing
A quiet afternoon at home watching football and playing with DD and talking with family on the phone--almost as good as getting to see them
Seeing the excitement on DD's face when she came downstairs this morning to find a fish tank on the stand where one belongs...we knew she wanted one==desperately and we had told her "NO" about 100 times in the last month. She was in AWE over almost all of her gifts and we played all day with them...gameboy SP, Scratch Art, Sorry, Read the books, watched the one lonely fish in her tank swim and explore--watched DH play gamecube, install his Sirius radio and he downloaded 1.5 gigabites onto his MP3 player...all today! Guess he is happy with his gifts...DD was mad because he played gamecube all day and she didn't get a chance to play except while he was installing the radio i his car! Tomorrow he gets to put the docking port in my van! HAHAHA--it is supposed to snow and be very cold tomorrow--I bet it waits til later in the week when it is warmer!

I didn't get much in the way of "gifts," but I had the best Christmas in years. I can't put my finger on why this one was so good, but I think it has a lot to do with love, family, contentment and the joy of seeing my children happy, healthy and enjoying each others company.

My oldest son came over and spent the night. He took his brother and me out to the movies yesterday: Lemony Snickets...glad I saw it, hope to never see it again. Try as I might, I'm just not a Tim Burton fan.

My gifts from my boys--actually from my ex-hubby and his new wife--were two framed photographs. They were photos of each of my sons wearing a tuxedo. The pictures were taken at my ex-hubby's wedding in August.

Also, my oldest, who is out on his own, promised me two days of labor. He's going to come over and help me move some furniture, do a little painting and clean out the garage.

My boss gave me a bottle of sugar-free Hazelnut syrup, a holiday mug and a box of decaf Chai tea. Yum!

I had to literly tell my DH we have X amount of dollars in the account... and dragg him to walmart Christmas eve to get me the toasteroven..

My family has always been big gift giv ers on Christmas.. even when $ was very slim they always found ways to make it look like alot! sometimes i hate that beacuse my kids just dont understand what it is like to not have EVERYTHING they wanted...

A few words out of my oldest boys mouth made me very upset he didnt meant to sound so harsh but it was...

Santa brought him a gameboy advance (older kind that looks like a controler for the game cube not the sp... ) my sister asked him if he got everything he wanted.. and he said.. "Well.... sorta,,, i REALY wanted the game boy sp... all i got was the old one"

if he only knew that if he would have got the old one.. that would have been the only gift under the tree... but when you pay 35 vers 70 something.. you have more you can get..

i told him he needs to understand that there are people who dont get ANYTHING today.. and that acting selfish is not a very good way to be...

BTW.. i think i need to expand on to my house...and to think... my little ones b-day is in 1 week...

From Mom: $50 and a beautiful plush gray zip-front vest with wolves carved into the plush around the bottom

From Dad & Stepmom: A bottle of Grand Marnier Reserve (this is a tradition that goes WAAAAAY back with my Dad & me!), a beautiful silk scarf with cats on it, a 3-cup Cuisinart, and a VERY generous check for DH and me

From Sister & her DBF: Tickets to the Wine Train in Napa! How fun!

DH and I don't do a gift exchange, but we choose something we BOTH want - this year it was a combo birthday/Christmas gift, a hot tub and gazebo. LOVE it!

He also bought me a 1.6 carat radiant cut diamond ring for our 10th anniversary which is 12/31.

I ain't complainin'!

In early Dec., as an early Xmas gift, I got a Roomba Discovery from DH. I love it and use it every day - it does the vacuuming while I take a shower, LOL! We have 4 cats, so it's especially helpful for chasing down the cat hair and kittly litter.

My sister gave me a lovely handpainted silk shawl with California poppies and celtic knotwork. It's a special design just for me by a local artist. My childhood friend gave me a needlepoint pillow she stitched. It's quite wonderful work and I'm sure it took her months to do. Wow!

I got jammies, dishtowels, a basket filled with kitchen goodies, a Spode tea cup, and a naughty corset and garter set. The lingerie was from another childhood friend. She's proud of me for losing so much weight so she wanted me to have something to show off my new figure (don't really have the legs for this get-up, but I greatly appreciate the sentiment).

I hosted Xmas dinner for several life-long family friends. It was a bit crowded, but very warm and jolly. The house was all decorated; I cooked my buns off for days, ate too much, and had a very good time, indeed!

I too only bought the 3 month starter subscription--but DH loves it...has installed the receiver dock in both our cars, but he keeps taking the thing out of the van--GRRRRRRR! IT is his and will only travel with me on long trips I take alone unless he ends up in Iraq...my brother is in Kuwait as of today. Anyway, between the MP3 player, the Sirius radio receiver and the gamecube--I have occupied him long enough on the past week of 1/2 days of work to keep him out of my hair and the kitchen! We really do love the satelite radio too...ahven't tried it on teh computer yet--but may later...have been reading new books I just now have time to read--If you like this sort of thing--SciFi/Action/adventure/War Eragon is a wonderfully written piece of Young Adult Literature that is absolutely captivating...Very exciting! I managed the 500 pages in about 14 hours total!
