Thread: football question..

I just started watching football this year, and there is an awful lot I don't understand... but I know the superbowl is coming up soon, and I wonder what 'wildcard' games are?? Do they play a part in determining who will play in the superbowl??? Exactly how is it determined as to who goes to the superbowl???

I know I sound dumb, but I've never watched football before this year.

A wildcard team is a team who hasn't had a *perfect* year with all wins or only 1 or 2 losses. Wildcard teams are like *borderline* on their records. They can enter into the equation as far as who goes to the superbowl. As far as how it is determined who goes to the SB, each league (AFL & NFL) have division champs, derived by elimination playoffs and that determines which 2 teams will face off in the BIG SB game. About as clear as mud, eh?
