| I saw this on the news last night: Krispy Kreme has replaced it's CEO with a "reorginazation specialist" and may be posting 4th quarter losses. (I guess this means they've tallyed up Oct.-Dec. 2004.) They also said they may be considering closing some of their stores. If the Krispy Kreme in Arlington, Texas closes, they can blame me! I haven't purchased donuts there in months.....and believe me: I used to be a (very) regular customer. I wonder if their troubles are from customers not buying, or if they aren't running very efficiently, or maybe both. ???? I love those things, but it's like this: I could skip the whole digestive process after I buy them.....I could just stick them to my hips and thighs and be done with it. Just wondering if anyone else heard about this....

| I've had Krispy Kreme's a couple times. I love their plain glazed...but they're not much more than air. I didn't even care for their other donutes. But then, I never was much of a donut eater. For awhile, Krispy Kreme was doing great...and they were opening up shops all over the country. I remember reading stories about people standing in lines for hours just to try one of their donuts. Maybe they opened too many, too fast...and maybe they were just too expensive to keep people coming.

| ALright.... to all of you.... I used to LOVE their doughnuts ( a fresh batch was delivered to my work twice a day). You could just smell the fresh glazing.... and trust me, it's quite a challenge to fill the glass case with them and not want to eat one! And the worst part, is I STILL work there, and they still tempt me soo much, but I refrain. A smaller frame is better than a million doughnuts could be! |

| I Live in the city where Krispy Kreme began and is headquartered. I don't know Scott Livengood (CEO) personally but friends of mine do. (or is it friends of friends?). The word on the street is Krispy Kreme tried to blame low carb for declining sales when the problem was they opened up too many stores too quickly. According to former employees - To boost sales at the end of the quarter they would ship out twice as many doughnuts as ordered. The double shipped donuts would be returned but in the next quarter. |

| Ah, Rob has the inside scoop. A while ago I posted on a low carb donut they were supposed to be making at a donut shop here in Denver (Lamar's). I forgot about it until now. I wonder how that went? When Krispy Kreme first opened in a suburb here people would line up to get those things. It was a novelty. Now they've even replaced them in the grocery stores with the old grocers donuts that they use to have.

| Omigawd! I LOVE Krispy Kreme!! I've only had them once, when I was visiting CA. But, I had a half a dozen then! I work right next to a Dunkin' Donuts. It is SO hard not to "reward" myself for eating clean with a donut!! I know....."reward" sweets is stupid....but, unfortunately there it is for me! Donuts are my downfall. I refrain most of the time, but just once in a while, I don't. Peg

| LOL Noel! I remember when that Krispy Kreme store opened! It was even a big story in the news. I think Rob's on the money about expanding too fast. Once Krispy Kreme was this nirvana of a doughnut available only in limited areas far, far away and the next thing we knew, they were everywhere. Yesterday I was picking up some stuff at Walgreens downtown and they had boxes of Krispy Kremes stacked in front by the registers. Haven't heard anything about Lamar's doing a LC version so I wonder if that fell by the wayside.

| I only had KK donuts once - when we went to PacBell park for a ball game. You couldn't buy just 1, you had to get a box of four; which annoyed me no end. But, then I ate one and they have no substance. Like cotton candy, they just evaportate when you bite into one. Well, I don't call myself a sugar addict for nothing -I could easily have eaten the whole box, except for the embarrasment of appearing so piggy! Besides being a bad valueI'd just suspect the rapid expansion is the real problem. I watched the same thing happen to WebVan: opening in new markets before the established markets were profitable. Suddenly, like a cantilevered house of cards, the whole thing collapsed practically overnight.

| I'm apparently the odd bunch in this neck of the woods -- everyone I know absolutely salivates over KK donuts. Me, I like the plain old southern Maid donuts. The lack of substance really annoyed me... just hook me up to the icing line, because there wasn't much else there. |
