I'm going to do every thing i can once she is home from hospital I have done alot of reading and trying to figure out difrent things i can make for her ... seems like imidetly post op is CLEAR LIQUIDS 100% for a short period of time.. then progress from there...

I will be praying that everything goes well, Gilley. She is lucky to have as good a friend as you; knowing you are there for her will make a big difference.
My best to you both.

I'll say a prayer now, gilley. I can't offer much advice, as I don't know anything about the whole post-op deal with GBS, but I do know this: she's going to need your support! I know you'll be there for her.

One thing my family found helpful when my mom and dad went through serious illness: you go to the follow up appointments with her, and take notes on what the Dr. says. Often, the patient is so nervous that they don't really "hear" what the Dr. is saying. And also, this way you'll know best how to care for her.

Hang in there, and make sure to make time for YOU too.

love,
andrea

Good luck with your friend. My sister had that surgery done a year ago. Lots of ups and downs with gastic bypass.... It will probably take a while for them to get her dietary needs established since most of the nutrients she will now take in are in the form of supplements. I wish you and your friend the best of luck. She is very privileged to have such a special and caring friend as you!

Thanks everyone for prayers, Iam on a mission today beacuse i couldnt go in to see her yesterday, She was stuck in recovery room waiteing on a room till 7:30 pm. Her husband stayed there waiteing to see her till 2pm.. he said he wanted to tell her good bye if he couldnt go in and see her, and the dingbat forgot to give her .. her glasses.. she will be blind as a bat today till she has them! So as soon as i can get someone to watch my kid breifly I'm running her glasses down, then going back to herh ouse and makeing sure her horses have been fed and waterd. obviously her husband dont care about things so i figure i better check on everything.

im very frustrated right now at how absent minded he is and thoughtless and im glad i am here for her... as far as i knew she is doing good.. I'm about to call the hospital to conferm her room #. and to possibly get her phone#
