| Like 93.3 million other Americans (according to a retail survey) I am wearing green today. In fact, I'm wearing a baseball cap covered in green sequin shamrocks. I'm a one-woman parade! St. Patrick's Day blessings to everyone. |

| Dressed in green here also. Plus for breakfast, I made my 11 year old green cream of wheat and green apple juice. (In past years I have also been known to make green scrambled eggs. LOL) Making an Irish meal tonight for dinner also. Heck, in my opinion, it is fun holidays like this that keep one day from being the same as all the rest, right?

| I always wear green on St. Paddy's day. And I wear my dad's 69th Regiment (Fighting Irish) pin. But I wouldn't eat any preserved meat boiled with cabbage unless I was seriously starving. I may be half Irish, but my palate is 100% Sicilian. Margaret Mary Clark |

| Ahhh, MK, another penguin victim, I presume. We were subject to the Dominican variety. What order was teaching at your school? Or are you so much younger than I am that nuns were not common in Catholic schools anymore? We had no lay teachers. Yes, Cybersis, I do wear it with pride. The dogs on the pin are not wolves, but Kerry Blues and we'd have a couple of them as mascots in the parade. One year they got into a fight with one another. "Gentle When Stroked, Fierce When Provoked." (<< the regiment's motto) The shield they're guarding says "69" in it, but it didn't show up well in the picture. The shamrock is self-explanatory. The 69th was an Irish volunteer unit started in the 1800's by New York City's Irish immigrants. They distinguished themselves in the Civil War and in all wars thereafter. The rainbow (they are known as the "rainbow division") was added later, when the multi-ethnic composition of New York City started to be reflected the division membership. The theme of the regiment, however, remains the Garyowen. I spent a good amount of time at the Armory on Lexington Avenue. My dad was 17 years in the regular army (Pacific and Italy) then continued in the National Guard until retirment. He was a good man, a good soldier and a good "Irish-American" - in or out of the bag. I wear the pin to honor him. Here's a graphic representation of the herald on the pin. http://www.dmna.state.ny.us/historic...hRegNYGDui.htm
