That is absolutely at the top of my list!

Also bungee jumping or tightrope walking.

All in all - I just don't like heights! LOL!

I am SO in tune with you guys...heights scare me silly. Skydiving would have to be No. 1, with bungee jumping a close second.
If I had to choose something non-height related, I would have to say scuba diving with sharks. Someone I know did it; I think he's nuts.

This may seem silly, but: ice skating. I hate ice, being cold, those horrible blades, and the mere thought of losing a digit, falling, or getting sliced accidentally. Just the thought of strapping ice skates onto my feet and attempting to skate (although it is beautiful to watch others do it)is mind-numbingly terrifying. I can't even roller skate! LOL!

ALL OF THE ABOVE and one more:

skiing.

Sorry, I just can't imagine how flinging yourself uncontrollably down an icy mountain at X mph on two little sticks with two other little sticks in your hands is a fun experience.

You'd find me at the lodge, drinking a cup of low-carb hot cocoa!

Well, Ed, you could probably win and argument with me if I were on a ladder and you were in charge of whether or not I could come down.

I'm in the height averse group. I pat myself on the back every time I drive over a bridge or use a little step ladder to put up my Christmas lights. (mind you, if I weren't so vertically challenged, I could almost do it with a big reach. LOL!)

Yep on the spiders. They give me the willies.

Here's one: (kinda long, but true, I swear) A good friend of mine, a few months back, had a really painful, skull-splitting toothache. She called her dentist and couldn't get in for days; pain medication wasn't helping. She is a pretty gutsy chick, but this amazed me: she went to her DH's toolbox, got out a pair of pliers, and (you guessed it) PULLED HER OWN TOOTH. According to her dentist, she did a pretty good job of it, too.
Me? Never in a million years.

I love skating,want to ski, skydive,bungee jump and para-sail.
Won't pop my eyeball out and can't stand to watch anyone do it! I think the reasoning that doing it because you can, is equally as sickening!

eeeuuuwwww! Why, I mean, really, WHY, would anyone do that?????

ditto on the height related fears! and the skiing fear. I would never even try deep sea diving. I have a totally severe case of "dwt" (dark water terror). I cannot even imagine getting into ocean water past the depth where I can touch the bottom. My boys used to think it was the height of hilarity to talk me into swimming out "a ways" with them, then trying not to laugh as I tried not to show how terrified I was, just casually suggesting that we should probably head back now... It took years for me to catch on that they knew how afraid I was. Brats.

I'll tell you something about heights and swimming. I've always been a cork. Even at my slimmest, I've got bird bones and enough fat to keep me afloat. Once I learned that all I had to do was roll over on my back and I'd float, I learned to swim and never gave a thought to how deep any given body of water might be.

Several years ago, I went snorkeling for the first time. I had a mask all rigged out with my prescription, so I'd be able to see everything. I practiced with the mask & snorkel a bunch (in the bathtub ) learning to breath normally - instead of trying to hold my breath - while my face was in the water. And off we finally went for our snorkeling adventure.

Well the boat, of course, doesn't park right on the reef. So you're supposed to put on your mask and flippers and paddle over to the reef. I gently pushed off from the boat and, when I put my face in the water all of a sudden I could see the bottom! It was really far away
The whole height thing kicked in and I freaked. I felt as if I were up in the air and the ground was really far beneath me.

When I took my face out of the water I felt better and swam back to the boat. Finally after holding on to the ladder for a long time while I just floated with my face in the water, I was able to get enough of my brain back on line to realize that the bottom had ALWAYS been that far away, that I had NEVER sunk before, and just because I was now in very clear water and could see where it was, nothing had changed.

I really enjoyed the reef. It was beautiful.
