Having worked in a bank for MANY years in the past (and dealing closely with mortgage companies even longer) I know what lengths Banks will go to to make sure a house is up to code before they'll release it for auction. So I wouldn't worry one second about them finding anything wrong.

Oh and I really want to see a pic of that hot tub porch area. So send Maggie a copy of the photo and she'll post it. (sorry to volunteer you Maggie but I know you won't screw it up - LOL)

OK, gang. Here are more pictures! One of the dining room and one of the back of the house, featuring the 3 season room!

Okay--I'll be the open house tour guide, LOL! The inside picture is in the dining room, looking through to the living room. The door you can see in the far corner of the living room is one half of a pair of French doors that open to the porch. The door right next to it that you can see standing open goes to the downstairs bedroom, which will be my office. Note the pretty, open staircase .

The electric fireplace in the dining room is no longer there (former owners stripped out all the appliances when bank foreclosed). If the picture went a little further to the left, you'd see the dining room door that opens to the porch. A little further to the right, and you'd see the door into the kitchen.

The dark colored room on the back of the house is the 3-season room with the hot tub in it. Much debate among those who've seen the house with me as to whether that needs to be painted white to coordinate better with the house. Since it's all windows and screens and slats and so forth, not sure I want to deal with keeping it painted. Isn't it nice how they put on a big deck so the porch wouldn't be missed? This is definitely not a house lacking for porch-sitting opportunities!

Thanks again for all your support as I work my way to Homeowner Land! And BIG thanks to Maggie for doing these pictures for me!

Your home is gorgeous! I am in the market for new house and I wish I could find something half as nice as yours. A huge fire ripped through my area in the 1920's so there are very few older character homes standing. I am envious!

The only advice I can offer is that I spent more than a year looking! I can't recommend that approach, LOL! Finding this one was more "right place, right time" than anything else. I do feel extremely fortunate!!

It certainly doesn't look its age, girlfriend - and I love that big enclosed porch, and I'm with ya - I wouldn't bother with paint - why maintain MORE than you need to? With the rest of the easy-care exterior, IMHO I'd leave the porch "as is" - unless your friends lobbying for the paint job intend to keep it up for you! LOL!

Aderyn, I absolutely love your new home. It looks like it's in great shape. I would like to say congratulations and when you move in, take some new pictures. I'm sure Maggie would be glad to put those up for you, too!
