Default My New House

Okay, I am hoping I remember how to do this and that this picture won't be HUGE or anything. This is what I hope will be my new house.

[EDIT: DANG! IT DIDN'T WORK. Can someone remind me how to post a pic?]

The inspection is on Tuesday and barring any problems, we're good to go!

Easiest way is to use the Post Reply button. Scroll all the way down on the reply section and you'll see a place to "attach a file."

C'mon Aderyn, I wanna see your new house!

If you're having problems with sizing, send it to me in an email and I'll re-size it for you.

Here it is. If this works out okay (size, etc.), I'll attach another of the back.

I LOVE it! I can just see some hanging planters with flowers in between the posts on the porch. Really nice!

That is beautiful!!! I've always loved wraparound porches. (course, I'm in a brick ranch, not my personal preference).

Well, I tried to post a picture of the back, but I can't "snip" one that works well. Basically, they have taken the old side porch and turned it into a "3-season room" with windows, screens, carpet, and gas fireplace for heat. That's where the hot tub is. Then, they added on a big deck so that the porch wouldn't be missed

I feel kind of bad that this house would *never* have been in my price range if not for someone else's misfortune (foreclosure), but at the same time, someone's going to buy it--why not me? Just kind of sad to think of all the lives that have passed through it and that the last story is a sad one.

Great house, Aderyn! Good luck with this. Oh, yeah, hanging plants would be perfect.

I totally understand your feelings about the house's history, but look at it this way: you can add a happy story!

Oh MAN!! That is the coolest! What a darling place. Looks like what I'd build if I could!

Listen, people have misfortune all the time, and SOMEONE always steps up and takes advantage of a great opportunity - so don't think about it, make the house your own and enjoy it!

Keep us posted - do you have it in escrow yet?

We have an accepted offer with escrow deposit, subject to inspection. Inspection is Tuesday at 4 p.m. I don't have too many concerns about the inspection, because what you can't see from the picture is what awesome shape it's in. The siding is new. The windows are all new vinyl replacement. The roof is new. The electrical has all been upgraded. Flooring is all just-refinished hardwood except kitchen and laundry, which have tile (real tile, not vinyl), and bathroom, which has hardwood-look laminate (with tile on walls). Walls, ceilings, woodwork (including open staircase in living room ) are all perfect.

Of course, none of this means there couldn't be hidden problems, but that's what the inspection is for. Assuming everything is okay, we will move to financing at that point. I'm already pre-approved so don't anticipate any glitches there.

I'm getting pretty excited!! (Bet you couldn't tell, LOL!)
