Default PianoMom! So sorry about your loss!

I tried to PM you but your inbox is full....

Just wanted to say how sorry I am for the loss of your little furchild - I know how tough it is to lose one - lost my 16 year old kitty, ToTo, last year, and 3 years ago, my 12 year old Rottie, Fritzi. They are so much a part of the family - I am sending cyberhugs your way!

Thanks! It's SO hard....I just want to hold her and I know I can't. It just keeps hitting me in waves. About the time I think I'm handling it ok, here it comes again.....She was such a beautiful little dog with the prettiest sweetest little face I think I'd ever seen and had a really sweet gentle loving disposition. (little one in my avatar. Guess one day I'll have to change it. I can't decide right now if it brings me comfort to see it or if it just makes it hurt worse). I keep getting hit with this feeling of "it can't have happened to HER, not Misty", ya know? I guess that's just the shock and grief. I've lost pets before (long time ago) but sometimes there are some that just seem to grab ahold of your heart more than others, (ya know?) & she did that. Plus, we'd had her for 15 almost 15 1/2 years. Anyway, thanks for your prayers and thoughts.

PS I like your description of little "furchild". Never heard that before but it is SO fitting!

Hang in there, Girlfriend, it DOES get better, but not for a while - after we lost Fritzi, for weeks I swore I could hear her - she had this unique "whistle" thing she did - and every now and then I still see ToTo peering around the end of the sofa in the living room!

But in time, you remember all the cute and funny things they did, and you smile. I hope you'll be smiling more than crying soon!

I read this in a catalog yesterday and I was reminded of it when I read this thread:
"Those we have held on our arms for a little while, we hold in our hearts forever." And "If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever." These saying are on little "remembrance stones". I guess for pet graves, I'm not sure.

Anyway, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My sweetie is almost 9 and her breed doesn't usually live past 14 at the most. I think of that dreaded time every day. I love this dog so much it is crazy. So, I understand. :(

My friend Joy (also a dog lover) is going to let me borrow her CD by Jack Van Eppe. He gives a lecture/sermon about how our animals go to Heaven when they die. If you are a believer, you will find great comfort in that, I hope. Hugs to you!

Glenda, when did I miss the info about you losing your precious little doggie? I am so sorry, I didn't see it. My heart goes out to you. I know you've been a wonderful mom to your little mate and you gave her love, comfort. security and care. She was a beautiful girl, leave her little picture up as long as you want & need. Peace and healing to you.

Oh, my. I hadn't seen the news.

I'm so sorry, Glenda. I understand. It does come in waves but, as Char said, time really does help. Meantime, all you can do is respect your grief and allow yourself to feel the sorrow.

My thoughts are with you.

Glenda - I am so sorry for your loss. It IS like losing a family member because that's just what our pets are. MY Sophie is only 5 years old but occasionally I'll look at her and think how devastated I'll be when she passes.

I am very sorry for your loss. It is so difficult to lose such a good friend. I'm sure her love for you will live on in your heart forever; just as your love for her will enrich her soul's further journeys.

Yes, I'm a believer & I've been wondering about that too. We'd always been told that animals didn't have souls so only humans could go to heaven. But my hubby and I were talking last night about it. We came to this conclusion. We don't remember ever reading anywhere in the bible about them not being able to go. So, we wonder if maybe since they're "innocent" animals, they could automatically go, ya know? I don't think anyone really knows for sure and that makes as much sense as people saying that they can't. It sure would be great to be able to see her and hold her again one day. Can you give me the name of that cd when you get it please? Those sayings are SO true too!

Thanks for all of your prayers, concerns, and sympathies, etc. She was such a little sweetheart and we miss her terribly. I sure hope this agony doesn't last too much longer! Oh, I did have one funny thing happen yesterday though. I was sitting at the computer and all of a sudden, I could've sworn that I'd just gotten hit by a Misty "bomb" (fart)! Believe me when she hit you with one, you knew it! I asked my daughter if she thought Misty was a ghost now and had just visited me and hit me with a bomb. That gave her a laugh too.

I mentioned it in one of my posts on the Next Person game (I think it was). That's probably why you didn't know. It would've been easy to miss.

Thanks again all of you!
