Default Cute girl dog names?

We're trying to come up with a list of cute girl dog names so that when we get the puppy, we'll already have some ideas to choose from, etc. We thought that when we have the dog and know what it looks like, then we can see which name/names fit it & vote on our favorites. Any ideas?

I'm of the opinion that you should watch a pet for a couple of weeks and see what name fits. But if you're looking at yorkie mixes, a friend of mine had a yorkie and named her priscilla. Prissy for short and man did that name fit.

I love the name Bailey and would have named our little toy poodle that we rescued that, but he was a he. DH & DSs informed me real fast that was strictly a girl name.

Hey, Rob, do you see any good ads in the Winston newspaper for either yorkiepoos or cockapoos? What we're looking for: female, dark color/mixed color, toy size. Winston's only a couple hours from us and since my parents live in the mts., we could always go through there, pick up the puppy and go see my folks.

Rob, How funny! MY dog's name is Priscilla, too! We call her Prissy, Prissiopia, and lately, RatDog. (Last weekend, she came in, dropped a dead rodent onto my dining room floor, looked at me, wagged her tail, and smiled. I never knew I could hit such high notes!)

We adopted this half Border Collie, half Australian Shepard from some people who already named her....after Priscilla Presley. Her brother had a black coat and was named after Elvis. Prissy has a reddish, ginger colored coat where most Border Collies are black. Beautiful. I'll TRY to attach a picture.

I've always thought Missy is a cute dog name, but maybe that name is too close to "Misty" for you.

I'm glad you decided to get another dog. Misty would not want her Mom to be lonely. I've thought alot about it, and when my beloved Pris is gone, I think she would want me to not be lonely. Like someone getting remarried after their spouse dies. It doesn't mean they didn't love their spouse...they always will.

Bailey's cute! Maxibee, yeah Missy is a little too close to Misty. I think we'd slip & call her Misty too much of the time. It would be pretty if it wasn't for that though. One of my parent's dogs name is Prissy so I can't do that one. Their other one is Pepper. They're both poodles. It's funny. I actually asked my dh about Tori but he didn't want that one because one of our Pastor's daughters is named that! lol I've come up with a few too but not one yet that has really "grabbed" me. I keep thinking that we need a name that is not only pretty or cute but one that we won't mind saying a lot. Does that make sense? Cause it's a name that we'll use a lot for years and also probably needs to be one that's easy to say because of that. You know how some names just seem to "roll off the tongue" easier than others? Maybe we can just call her mutt! Any more ideas?

My big baby Rottie was Fritzi, which means "peaceful ruler" - fit her to a "T"! May be too close to Misty for you too though.

Do you want a PEOPLE type name, or a DOG type name? Like, people would be "Priscilla, Mitzi, Cherie" vs. doggie type names like "Button, Muffin, FiFi" -

That will steer me in the proper imagination department! LOL!

Actually, either people or "doggie" names are fine so let your imagination fly! I like both so it doesn't matter.

I'm partial to Maggie & Molly! (Those are my border collie mix littermates names)

Maxibee your Pris is so cute--I love Aussies and their markings. Our 2 border collie mix girls are with chow and retriever so...both black, including tongues!

Whatever you choose for a name, be sure it is short and easy to pronounce--that's better for you and the dog. Oh and be sure the word "NO" sounds good after it. My dogs think their names are Maggino and Mollino!!

LOL

Maggie's one of the names on my list. Maybe I should add "MaggieNO" too! Misty would answer to Misty, Mimi, & Mutt-Mutt. lol

I like Maggie, too; my neighbor's lab retriever is named Maggie. I have a Molly now, and have had Nell, Greta (a weim), Samantha (Sam), and Jingles in the past.
