 Maggie's Second Law of Animals "Animals will expand to fill the available space."  It's raining. So Brutus and the gang of three decided to take over my new (I thought HUGE) sofa. I'll have to displace one of the cats (Bob being the prime candidate since he's under the lamp - he's going to have to go "up top" with Ruth) if I want to sit down to read. I thought my old - much smaller - sofa was adequate. I'm beginning to think, though, that like memory in a computer, you just can't have enough sofa.

Had to buy an extra large sofa for my living room as my twin basset hounds cannot seem to lie on the floor, nor can Aspen or Millie (the manx cats). However..... they are my extra flock of children.... There are days I know I cannot do without them, and some days... I wonder why I have them. Still in all, they are loved more than they even possibly know  Thanks for sharing the picture! |

| Re: Maggie's Second Law of Animals Oddly enough, Brutus is more like "uncle Brutus" than any alpha. When the kitties come in, they come and say "hi" to me, and to Brutus ... but in no particular order. Come to think about it, I don't think we have a proper alpha here ... not even me.

| Re: Maggie's Second Law of Animals Dang, that's cute! You should submit that one to one of thos 365-day calendars or something like that. A couple of years ago, DH and I had to buy a bigger bed to accommodate our cats. At the time, they were all quite overweight. With one or more packed on each side, we couldn't budge them if we needed to turn over. It's not such a problem now as we have one less cat, and the remaining 3 cats are much slimmer. DH (a very early riser) says most mornings, all the cats are jammed up right against me until he rattles the food bowls to feed them
