| What is everybody going to the theaters to see this summer? So far, I've seen "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants"--very cute movie, definitely a chick flick. Also "Monster in Law"--don't waste your money unles it's a bargain matinee--It's not bad, and fun to see Jane Fonda on the big screen again, just kinda stupid. Very much looking forward to "Bewitched" opening this weekend, and can't wait for Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka next month!! Whatcha watchin???

| "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", for sure!! Johnny Depp and Tim Burton? It's gotta be amazing. I'm looking forward to: War of the Worlds Fantastic Four The Brothers Grimm (by Terry Gilliam, of Monty Python) Must Love Dogs (chick flick with Diane Lane and John Cusak...love him.)

| I saw Mr. & Mrs. Smith with dd and dh, it was good. I am trying to coordinate a girls day out with some of my friends and our teen daughters to go together to see Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, we might go this Friday.. I am very much looking forward to seeing the new "Herbie" movie, as well as "Bewitched" and "War of the Worlds". "Fantastic Four" looks as though it might be good as well. I love it when there are lots of great choices! We have a drive in not too far (Barstow, 45 min drive) so hopefully they will pair some of my movie pics together, and we will see two at once! We love to take a portable radio and some sand chairs to the drive-in! |

| Can you believe I've never even been to a drive in?? It's on my "to do before I die" list. I did also see "Mr and Mrs Smith" and thought it was great fun. I don't know what's going on in their personal lives, but they had great on screen chemistry!

| Wow, I used to work at the drive-in! "Back in the day" it was just another common alternative for seeing a movie (fill a car with people, take your own eats, sneak in a friend in the trunk, LOL!) Some of them even featured little in-car heaters so they could stay open all winter. It's funny to think they've disappeared to the point that people have never been to one. You should definitely go if you find one; it's a whole 'nother movie experience I've got Mr. and Mrs. Smith on my list, as well as Willie Wonka (I agree--Johnny Depp and Tim Burton? What's not to like?). I read a review today that said "Herbie" was silly in the best way--great silly summer fun. Made me want to see it, too. Aderyn |

| There is a drive in less than a mile from my house. They are having a double feature this weekend we would like to go to: Madagascar and Monster in law. Also can't wait to see Willy Wonka and Fantastic four. For some reason, Bewitched just doesn't interest me. Guess I will always think of Elizabeth Montgomery as Samantha.

| Hey, I've seen that one between Phoenix and Show Low, too! Can't remember just where it was, but clearly remember noticing it. I'm thinking it was closer to Phoenix than Show Low....We used to have a "clean" one in the town where I went to high school (the one where I worked) and a "dirty" one (XXX rated) in a not-too-distant town. The big adventure was to pass for 18 on a date and get into the XXX one. I'm not sure if I was more shocked or disappointed the night my steady and I went. Granted, I'd never seen all those naughty bits so prominently displayed...but what a bunch of plotless, pointless junk! I still remember how horrified I was when I went to the snack bar and realized what kinds of...uhm...novelties were on sale there! Aderyn |

| Oh, yeah - drive-in movies. When I was a kid in the fifties, the family went almost every weekend - it was about the only outside entertainment my folks could afford. Kids were free, don't you know - and there was no babysitter to pay. What a gas that was for kids. Most drive-ins around here had sandbox playgrounds with swings, slides, teeter-totters and merry-go-rounds. You could play in them before the movies started and during intermission. Picture hundreds kids in their pjs running and hollering and having a great time in the dark. Parents stayed in the car necking - or whatever. What a different era - nobody thought twice about letting the kiddies out to play without supervision. We saw Revenge of the Sith recently, and it was better than okay. It just wasn't such a great story with which to end the Star Wars series. Some weekend, we'll have to have a Star Wars-athon and watch the movies in the corrector order.

| So far I've seen Star Wars, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Batman Begins and Madagascar. I liked all four movies - I think I enjoyed Batman begins the most. I will be off to see Bewitched this weekend.

| I do want to see Batman Begins...and maybe Star Wars. But why can't they just make these darn movies in the right order? It makes me (a perfectionist with ADD) absolutely stark-raving mad! Also (drooling) I am having bad withdrawals from Julian McMahon...and Nip/Tuck is not slated to return until August or September. So, since DD is wanting to see Fantastic 4, I will brave the theater and take her....and get my Julian fix while I'm there!

| Teel, the drive-in we went to not only had swings and sandboxes, but PONIES for the kids! Seriously, live pony rides! And you're right, parents didn't even hesitate to let us bail out of the car and head up front on our own. What really cracks me up is I remember where the owners of the drive-in lived, and it was virtually RIGHT in town, but they had a big old house with a big old carriage house, and the city let them keep the ponies there. Never get that past the zoning board today! I've got Batman, Star Wars, and Madagascar on my list, too. Tina, how was Madagascar? It looks so cute in the previews, but the reviews are pretty lukewarm. Aderyn |

| We had a couple of drive-ins here. I think one has closed now but we still have another but it is up by some stock yards so it is STINKY at times. But I went to the other before it closed quite often. Loved grabbing supper and going to the double features. Though most of the time I would fall alseep by the middle of the second movie. I have seen Madagascar, thought it was hilarious but some of the people at the office said the kids hated it, but I liked it and found the subtle adult humor great. I also saw Star Wars III. Also enjoyed it quite a bit. Saw the first one (well now the 4th) when I was 6 so I have been a fan for quite some time. Didn't care much for the other two new ones but really enjoyed this movie as well. I found that it was more true to the Star Wars vision. I'm also looking forward to many movies. Willie Wonka...this one most of all I think Batman Begins...loved Christian in American Psycho, he still creeps me out War of the Worlds Mr. & Mrs. Smith I've begun watching movies again and it's great. Use to go all the time when baby was very small, he even slept through most of The Return of the King.

| Saw "Bewitched" over the weekend--it has gotten bad reviews on the whole but i thought it was cute. It is not meant to be great cinema and it isn't. Dont expect a reamake of the TV series, it is more ABOUT "Bewitched." Nicole Kidman was awesome 9surprisingly, a natural at comedy) but I thought Will Farrell was miscast. Jim Carrey woudl have been a much better Darren (I think he was originally cast for the part). Still worth my matinee dollars, and I'd recommend it if you're looking for a light, cute, movie.
