The Snapple lady need a gastric bypass. There. I said it. You all KNOW I would never recommend that to anyone, but she absolutely lacks the discipline to do it, even after being on the show and humiliated: TWICE.

I love this show and I am so hacked about the results of Big Brother, I'll be watching "BL" instead of THAT finale on Tuesday!

I know! I suprised myself! Sometimes I watch it when I can't find anything else on.

Here's my "thing" with some of the people on BL, the Dr.Phil Weight Loss Challenge, CFC, and others: they were chosen out of THOUSANDS of people. They get a trainer, a nutritionist, the right food, encouragement and/or humiliation, time off to work on getting fit, etc. And some of them STILL do not lose.
Dr.Phil was very disappointed in 3 of the contestants in his challenge that did not really take advantage of all the help he offered.

I'd like to think if I was on one of those shows with all that help, I'd be really working on it. I don't know. It's hard to say when you're not in their shoes.

Train wreck.

On BL, I am really interested to see the transformation of the guy who used to be a wrestler in college. I could feel his pain when he was describing how trim and athletic he used to be and how he's allowed himself to get in this shape. He's hurting and it's very apparent.

I remember finally coming to the realization that I'd gotten FAT. I'd live with my Aunt and Uncle (they have a seperate upstairs in their home) for a couple of years, getting back on my feet and mending my broken heart. When I moved into my own apartment
I finally weighed myself and discovered that I had gained 60 pounds in the 2 years I had live with them. Auntie's cooking (comfort food) and BlueBell ice cream EVERY night will do that to ya.
I was (and am) disappointed that I'd allowed myself to get so big. I remember when I first moved in, I'd borrowed a pair of jeans from my cousin and they were SO baggy on me. By the time I moved out, I lacked about 5 inches being able to button them. Sad.

So, I understand how most of these people feel. You KNOW you're gaining....but until you see a picture or try on some old clothes....or something, you don't REALLY realize how much you've gained. It may be different for those who have been heavy all their lives. I just know we can all be where we want to be if we will just DO IT!

I'm going to watch the repeat of the first episode tonight. I loved watching last season (especially Gary and Andrea), so I'm interested to see the new group!

I was always fat and always over 300 pounds since I was 14 so I don't know the feeling of having been thin and then getting fat. I think it might be harder as adults but then I think "serves you right if you poked fun of fat people", which sorry to say I get that impression from the wrestler. I mean we all knew jocks like that in college and they weren't very nice. But then I know I'm being petty and everybody hurts. And yes he does seem so saddened by his gain.

So, BL is on tonight. Don't forget to tune in.

thanks for the info on the show noel.. i WAS able to catch the season premier show on sunday.. saturday? whatever... (sorry.. been sick.. days are a bit fuzzy)... and i managed to record todays show... so i got to see it..
some of it drives me nuts.. such as SHOW US MORE OF WHAT THEY ARE DOING...instead of ten flippin minutes to show each on the scale or TEN flippin minutes for them to show each card for whose chosen to leave...

i guess i just want to see more POSITIVE and SUCESS ... than sad forlorn looks and humiliated faces when they weigh..

kind of a strange series... was the LAST SEASON this way?

and what the HECK.. how are these people losing twenty some pounds in a WEEK?? WHAT is THAT all about??

and what the heck... showing them FOOD and asking them to choose between staying on plan or seeing a letter from their babies at home?
sick.. just sick..

Kim, at some point it was noted that the first weigh-in was after 10 days. STILL! That's alot of weight to lose in 10 days. But, thinking about it.....if I was just starting out eating right every day and working out like that, my body would be in shock, too. So, I suppose it IS possible to lose that much, though some of it must be water weight, too.

It does seem cruel to tempt them in that way, but you had to know they would be able to get the letters somehow....and "challenging" them in that way helps them to be able to say "No" no matter WHAT the temptation is when they return home.

I couldn't believe the balance-beam-over-the-water thing. That was tough. And so close in the end. Interesting, too....how the women's weight loss slowed down compared to the mens....

I'll keep watching. I worked out on my home gym since it's in there with the "other" TV. DH was in the living room watching something while I watched BL. How could I just sit and watch while they were all working so hard and my home gym is actually in the way of SEEING the TV? LOL!

I missed the beginning of BL :(

Now I don't know what balancing over the water thing you are talking about. I hadn't really gotten to know the lady that left, and it seems like no one there did as well. but she seemed extremely upset over having to leave. I would too. I'd cry then swear then storm out and don't even try and hug me or I'll sock you. That's why I should never even consider doing something you can be voted off of because it would tear me apart.

The women did really slow with their losses. Even percentage wise they were way off. I hope they catch up so that it's not this way all season.

Still don't have any favorites or anyone I can't stand. Not like last year. I loved Gary. Especially at the end. Well, this is just the beginning.

Yeah Kim, we have to remember it's a game show OK so maybe it is a cruel game show, not physically like the Japenese ones (I love those) but mentally, but still a game. I personally would not do it having a child at home but maybe if I had a strong other half it would be worth it, I just can't imagine spending a night away from DS let alone months.

Yes, they did the same type of thing last year but being that I missed the beginning of the show I don't know what they gave up and got this time.

I do question if it really prepares you for the real world, but its at least a try I guess. The guys were really trying to guilt the women, but they held strong.

I don't really have any favorites yet myself, but I'll keep watching. I did crack up when Jillian tore into that guy that made their meal that night. He's one to watch, I think. Looks like he could be their sabbotagor (sp?).

Noel, I don't know if you'll get to see a rerun or anything, so I'll try to catch you up:
Both the men and women were shown letters/cards from their families. AND a big plate of their favorite food. If they ate the food, they could open and read their mail. If they resisted the food, they could not read it. Almost seems like it should've been the other way around, but I see the lesson there.

The men kept taunting the women, trying to get one of them to eat the food, but no one did on either team. So, when they went to the challenge, they got to play for getting to read the letters AND getting one extra day to diet and work out before the weigh-in.

So, it was close, but the women won the contest. They all got their cards and letters and the extra day.....but it didn't seem to help them much. They lost the wiegh in by a bunch. Maybe everyone was on TOM that week, who knows?

As I catch up on my posts here, I am more and more determined to get in there and work out. That one reason I NEED my friends here: to keep me focused on my goals!

I keep missing the beginning of the shows. I think the men are losing a ridiculous amount of weight each week. 8 or 9 pounds?? Can't imagine they'll keep that up much longer.
