Wow, Noel! That's a great pic. You're right....Jon can see what he's gonna look like in the nearer-than-he-thinks future!

Ya know....if it weren't for ALOT of before-and-after pics, I would be so discouraged...but they are so inspirational. I keep reminding myself if they can do it, so can I!

BL is on tonight and as God is my witness I will see it from start to finish! I need to take a page out of Maxi's book and exercise while watching. Though for tonight and many nights to come packing will be my exercise. I think tonight I will start the kitchen.

Before and after pictures are a huge thing for me as well. Mine as well as other people's. I sometimes still think that you cannot tell that I've lost any weight which I know is ridiculous after losing 94 pounds but still, you know how it goes. It's so nice to really see the changes in the photos as they happen.

I found this episode to be very upsetting. The girls are just not a "team". I caught the bickering at the table and I understand both sides of why or why not someone would help the "gamblers" work out, but I got the feeling that there was alot of stuff happening that they did not show us.

I felt like I like Ryan, but she should've kept her mouth shut. Think it, just don't SAY it. She looked really good in the end....she lost 25 more pounds since she left.

Maxi's personal opinion only: I like Jennifer, but she has seemed to pick up some of the rude traits that Suzanne and Shannon have: loudness and obnoxious facial expressions. If that Suzanne chick doesn't SHUT up and Shannon rolls her eyes one more time, I'm gonna scream.

Then, the girls that did not train with Bob lost more weight than those that did. Anyone care to explain that? I think they crash dieted to be sure to lose....just my guess.

And that Mark guy (the cop who wants his bullet-proof vest to fit again) is on my nerves, too. He reminds me alot of Ryan from last year and I detested him.

Now, ya'll want to know how I REALLY feel? Just kidding!

Can you believe one guy lost 17 pounds in one week??? I can see if it is the first week of a diet maybe losing that much, but they aren't just starting out. How can that be?

Pete just has so much to lose but still, you are right 17 pounds, whoa.

Jen has emerged as my favorite girl. Maybe because that's the group I would belong to if I were a part of the girl "team". I too use team loosely...to quote Bob. Boy they really cannot get it together.

The men seem to be doing well. I thought with their big losses the girls would have them beat but they really came out with some big losses of their own.

Matt, though I am sure I would have hated him when he was in college being "the jock" is my favorite guy at this point. For the simple fact that he really tried to help the girls when he didn't have to. He is redeeming him self from what I felt for him the first couple of episodes. I can see him going close to all the way with his winning personality.

You know if you go to the BL website you can find recaps but they are not running it again as they did last year.

When I move the phone company in conjunction with one of the dish tv companies is giving full rebates on DVR's so I will be getting one and setting it up to record this and a few other things every week.

I missed the beginning even though I said

I agree with you all - can't get over those girls and their bickering. They need to pull it together or they'll get no where. There did seem to be more going on than they showed - the way Bob was in the one girls face.

It is neat to see the change in some of their faces; already see the weight loss.

My guess is they are having their "Golden Chance" or whatever it's called. Remember in the restaurant when one of the girls said "Meat and veggies, girsl, meat and veggies." ? HELLO! Lowcarb. ALOT lower calories and carbs than they have been used to eating and totally over-the-top more exercise than they are used to. They proabably burn enough calories in one day of exercise to lose a pound (around 3500).

They are not yo-yoing. Their bodies probably don't know what hit them! I, yes...me, Maxibee, lost 39 pounds in the first month when I FIRST started my very first low carb experience. Every time I have started over after some time off and a regain, it has been less and less effective.....but YMMV. Just my opinion.

Even the good Doctor Atkins said to lose it all, then maintain and not to do it "stop-start".

I had to DVR it this week and then watch it one afternoon. I'm with all of you about the girls. They are showing the worst of the characteristics of women, and the guys are doing the same, IMHO.

Girls compete with each other. Men compete as a team. We learn it VERY VERY early. Unless someone somewhere along the line teaches us the meaning of "teamwork" then we never learn. The most likely place for us to learn that is in athletics. If we have been overweight all our lives and not athletic, it is likely that we never learned the value of working on a team. NOW, that said, I know it is a generalization. It is true of MANY women, but not true of SOME.

I still have trouble working as a team with other women. I find myself having to stop and teach them all what it means to overcome our natural tendency to compete with each other and work together by sharing our intimate feelings about the team and the ways we can work better together.

About the men on BL. They are working EXACTLY like a bunch of jocks (with th exception of the guy who helped the girls this week). Competing with the girls by "rah-rahing" when they are together in that weight room. Why, I bet you can SMELL the testosterone! But, you see that it is effective in the way the game is set up. It is about competition as a team, with a team.

Hard lesson for those women. I hope they pull it together.
Peace, Peg

This time I set up my VCR to record it if I miss the beginning!

Yes, the boys are kicking butt right now I hope Bob can motive these girls to become a team.

I was glad to see Suzanne go. She just rubbed me the wrong way. After seeing everyone's videos, they all became a llittle more human to me. I think they did alot better as a team this week. If Suzanne hadn't spent so much time lobbying against the other girls, she may not have been voted out.

It is a well documented fact that men lose weight at a quicker/better/whatever rate than women. I understand that using percentages makes the pound-count more fair....but can the guys each have a 5 pound weight attached to their tummies at one weigh-in per month? Now THAT would be fair.

I don't remember that cop-guy's name, but he REALLY annoys me.

On a lighter note (no pun intended) I worked out on my home gym during the commercials. Then I watched "My Name is Earl". I love that show! Nip/Tuck came on at 9:00.........but that's another thread altogether!

It was so good to see the women proud of the win they had! It seemed to bring them together, which they have needed so badly. I hope that "team" concept continues with them. You're right about men losing faster, Maxibee. I thought the same thing. They need to do something to make it fairer. Surely they know that. Of course, it seems that the men have more to lose. Do you think that they thought that would make it fairer? Stupid.

I love "My Name is Earl" too, but it comes on opposite "Commander in Chief" which I just love! Good TV finally!!!
