Default New Season of SURVIVOR!

Okay all...whaddya think? I LOVE LOVE LOVE Stephanie and am sooo glad they brought her back! Bobby Jon, while not the brightest bulb in the pack, surely was a hard worker last season, so he could prove to be quite the asset. I can't believe all those guys got so sick but none of the women did! Thank heavens there is a nurse practitioner in their tribe! I would think she would be safe from being voted off for a while. I wonder if that branch with the prickies had some sort of toxic crap on it or something. The guy who got punctured sure seemed to get sick right afterwards and he looks like he gets worse next week.
Comments anyone??

I thought it was a GREAT start to the new season, loved the "twist" and MAN was that a grueling first challenge or WHAT? I would have HATED being out in the jungle like that all night. And yeah, what was UP with those guys all getting sick? The guys on the OTHER tribe seemed to weather it OK! Sheesh!

As soon as Jim said he had popped his biceps tendon, I knew he was a goner. No point keeping someone around who isn't physically helpful for challenges. Made their first tribal council somewhat easy as far as choice I'd say!

I had my TiVo set up and it did NOT catch the next week's preview so I didn't get to see what they showed! WAH!

I wasn't surprised that Jim got voted off after he hurt his arm, but it might have been an interesting vote if he hadn't given how many guys in that tribe got really sick. And I really think the guy who got the prickles in his arm looks like he gets a lot sicker next week.

I found that I didn't learn as much about the new contestants during the first show as I did in other series. It was also a really weird way to start with the teams already created and on their first challenge (getting to the start). Possibly everyone was blown away by the inclusion of Stephenie and Bobby Jon.

It felt like I walked in on the show already in progress.....but I didn't. I wonder HOW they picked the teams.

Crystal, I love Stephenie, too! No one deserves another chance more than HER!

Maybe women use their "extra layer of fat" to draw water from, like a camels hump! LOL! I sure thought it was weird that the chicks were fine and the guys were going down. I was eating dinner and the last thing I wanted to see was a bunch of sweaty guys barfing!

I'm glad Survivor and Biggest Loser are on now....I am totally disenchanted with Big Brother and the way it's ended up.

We only get some of the reality shows you see. I have decided that I have really definite views about Survivor contestants, having Stephenie (and to a lesser extent Bobby Jon - I agree with one of the contestants, he sure is easy on the eyes) on this series of Survivor will make me more likely to watch it. I didn't even know the show was starting last night but just happened to turn the TV on right at the start. Sounds like for a change Oz is actually in step with this series (usually we've been a week behind except for the series that was here). So if I couldn't wait I could go online to find out what happened the following week.

I usually really enjoy The Amazing Race, at least up to the last series I did. As soon as Rob and Amber appeared on any episode this time I had to leave the room.

Colleen, that's funny because my sister and I are both Survivor fans and Amber-n-Rob haters! When we heard there were going to be 2 players from a past Survivor in the new season we both said if it's Rob and Amber, we're not watching. Thankfully, it wasn't them.

The only part of an episode of Amazing Race I watched this past season was when DH yelled "Rob and Amber are about to be out of the race!" so I ran in there to watch their demise! LOL!

I think that Blake guy (who I agree....must've been poisoned by that tree) will be going home next.

Anyone want to take a shot at guessing on a winner? The past 2 winners have been men, right? Hmmmm....

What day of the week is Survivor on for you guys? We get it on a Friday night which is really weird (used to be Tuesday but I knew I could go online earlier to find out what happened).

Depending on where you live in the US you will be somewhere between 13 and 19 hours behind us or so my White pages says. According to the times shown on the posts on this site the difference is 21 hours (It's now Wednesday night and I should go to sleep). Now I'm confused!

So when Survivor screens in the US, it is Friday morning here. There is only a delay of a few hours then which is an improvement on 1/2 a week.

Okay.....I just don't want to ruin any suprises for you. So, don't read this thread before you get to watch it. We are watching it on Thursday night here and you will see it Friday night (our time?) This is SOOO confusing! But the show is fun to watch, so we'll discuss it after you get to see it!

I think we see it in wee hours of Friday morning your time. I'll probably be okay until the last episode and then go online to see who wins before the show. I'm the same with Big Brother (Oz version) which we see 2 hours behind those on the eastern side of Australia.

Thank goodness they didn't vote Stephanie off! I would have been totally disgusted if they had! They sure aren't very good at tug-o-war are they? Sheesh!

No they weren't were they. Can't figure out why in the one on one where the object was to be closet to their own flag at the end of 5 minutes, 2 of the contestants thought it would be a good idea to go over the other side of the arena.

It's really great to see that the teams are close this season. The last couple have had one team so much stronger than the other it's been really one-sided although if Yashak (? spelling) don't get some food soon they will be in a bad way. I'm glad they didn't vote Lydia off - I think she is a really hard worker and although not physically as strong or as athletic as Stephenie, she has the same sort of heart.

I wonder if Blake's illness is some sort of act or gameplay? - He did nothing around camp because he is ill, but then came out and shone in the reward challenge. The other guys in that tribe certainly think so.

As a whole, this group seem much more prepared mentally than any other group. But it's early days and as hunger and the primitive conditions take their toll, it will be interesting to see what happens.

At least there isn't anyone I hate yet (unlike Rob and soon after Amber).

I know, when they started that challenge I thought "Oh Blake will NEVER make it through this one!" and then he went at least TWICE! Huh? This from a guy who professed to barely be able to BREATHE in camp? We'll see how long he lasts!

I'm glad they voted off that girl who did NOTHING around camp. I've already forgotten her name....

Her name is "Morgan the lazy girl". Very forgettable.

I thought the same thing about Blake....one minute he's wheezing, the next, he's the star of the show....I'm wondering if Jeff Probst will prod any of them about that.

I wonder how long Gary will be able to keep his pro football career under wraps now that he's been recognized?

Anyone want to take any early guesses as to who may win this thing? I don't think the teams will "let" Stephanie or Bobby John win, but it should be interesting. I'll check back with my guess later.
