I can do the afternoon of the 23rd... Waco would be a LOT better for me, if it's not too far for anyone else.

There's a Chili's (not too hard to eat at), El Chico (has a LC menu including LC tortillas), Applebee's, TGI Fridays (haven't eaten there in YEARS), Red Lobster, Cracker Barrel (could be a challenge), and an whole bunch of other stuff. I just did a search on Restaurants in Yahoo's Yellow Pages.

So... what are y'all in the mood for?

Any of those except Applebees. I've not ever really found anything I like there too much: of course it IS DH's favorite place.

Cracker Barrell had/has a lowcarb menu. I haven't been in about a year....but my book club went twice and 2 of us were doing lowcarb at the time.

Anyone else have a preference? And how is that date? It's a Sunday afternoon. We'll need drive-time home, so we need to meet early enough to meet, eat, and visit before we depart. If I left here by 8:30-9:00 a.m., I would be there by noon. We could have lunch and a couple of hours to visit before we all parted ways around 3:00 or 4:00. I would be home in plenty of time to see Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy.

How does that work for everyone else?

That should work for me as well. Being Sunday, it could be QUITE crowded if we don't get there by noon, since most of the churches let out at noon. If someone lives near by and get there around 11:45 (heck I'm usually obsessively early), we should have a better chance, though some restaurants won't start seating until the whole party is there.

I'm okay with giving Applebees a pass. I'll see if I can find out about the Cracker Barrel menu.

Okay... went and looked on-line, and they have a HUGE low carb menu... anybody have an objection to Cracker Barrel?

Maxibee, whispering....(Gosh, ya'll.....I hope Heather is well before the 23rd of April....she is supposed to be my date and I don't want her breathing on me if she's still sick. What should I do?)

Nevermind, I know what I'll do! I'll pray for her complete and quick recovery! Sounds like a plan.

It seems I am going to live. Maxi, keep the prayers coming, I have to go for a chest CT this morning, and I'm a little nervous. They see a "spot" on my lung and want to check it out. I think it is just scar tissue from a bout of pneumonia that progressed to a lung infection when I was 11 yrs old. BUt it is still a little nerve wracking!
I'm going back to work today, and hope to be 100% by the weekend.

and yes, I'm still your date, Maxi!! as long as the shower doesn't end up being 4/23, I'm in!

Hey guys....came over here to read a joke, and found a huge party and I haven't gotten an invite... *boohooohoo!*

I'm in! Waco is a short drive from Killeen, and I do that trip every weekend, or every other weekend. Not super fond of Cracker Barrell - but hey, their eggs are good, and they have meat! Maybe I'll be suprised at their low carb menu...

I'll probably have company with me, that close to Killeen and NOT seeing him and I'd get in trouble.. ;-P

So I'm in!!!! In like Flynn!

I think we have the time, date, and city down.....the next (and most important) detail is the exact restaurant....so I'll see if I get a PM about one of the ones on the list....or I'll throw out a vote here and there and see if we can agree on a place.
And we can be assured of having no "unwanted guests".
