Ok, we tried this before and it didn't go very far, so lets see if we can do it this time... There are a bunch of us texans here on this site, lets see if we can't set a day and time in like march or april that we can meet somewhere, either have a picnic, or go out to eat....SO....
everyone that wants to join us, tell us where you are and how far you are willing to travel to meet; do you want to bring a dish to share or go out for dinner....
and anything else you want to add to this....

I am in austin, and would travel a 3 hour trip one way to meet,
Any weekend from March 18th thru april 29 is good so far with me.
I can go either to a restaurant or bring food....
I will probably bring DH with me....

ok who's next

after we get a bunch of these together, I will see what everyone wants to do, plot on a map where we all are, and how far people want to travel, and
see what we come up with...

Hey y'all!

I'm in Talco which is about 20 minutes from the 30, and I would be willing to travel about 2 hours or so (Dallas/Ft Worth/Mesquite/Arlington). Because of the time involved, I'd rather go OUT to eat (who knows if what I brought would stay good that long!) I'd prefer a Sunday so that I have a better shot at getting a sitter, and would most likely bring my DH as well.

Caroline..... I am from Austin.... miss it greatly..... may be visiting my family there during the springtime, so keep me in mind! Would love to have a TEXAN l/c feast!

As you all know, I am in Arlington.....those dates sound good, and no...I will not be bringing my husband. He hasn't gotten this carb thing figured out yet. He wants a magic pill that will let him eat whatever and all he wants. Sorry for the rant!

Eating out would be fine.....I would drive to Austin or, as Carolyn said....about 3 hours. I could do it on Sunday, but would prefer a Saturday. I'm flexible.

There's also Dee and Dan that I can think of right now that are from our great Lone Star State.....and Judy. Who else? Let's bump this up daily so when our neighbors come online, they'll see it.

Maybe a halfway site like Waco. I would prefer a restaurant. I know there is a TGIFridays right off the freeway. They have a good low carb menu.
I will be bringing DW.

I'll stay tuned in.....what a great excuse to shop! LOL! Just kidding. I am looking forward to meeting you all and your spouses. Mine will not be there. He is antisocial with anyone except HIS "people". I need some time away from him, anyway.

Sounds like a place won't be as big a challenge as WHEN?!

Hey everyone! I'm in. and maybe the austinites could even carpool! Waco works for me. I won't be bringing anyone (you can be my date Maxi!) and as for right now, any time in March or April works for me. (I'll have a baby shower in April sometime, but don't know when yet). and restaurant as far as that goes. Unless y'all want tuna, quiche or pumpkin thingys. seems like that's all I make anymore!

Anyone want to throw a date out there? Since we are not having winter yet....and my fellow Texans, ya'll know we will.....maybe April would be better than March? Just a suggestion to get the ball rolling. Only not the weekend Heather has the baby shower to go to. I'll check back with ya'll over the weekend. Have a good'un!

I'm good for anytime, but if we could do after the 10th of the month (DH's "big" payday), I would sure appreciate it. Money tends to get a little tight around the end of the month, and I'm not a big enough masochist to be able to go out to lunch and NOT eat

I'm really excited about this. DH said that Austin is 5 hours from here, but I don't think so. Regardless....he thinks nothing of driving 3 hours to go to the stupid deer lease every weekend during the season, so WHAYEVER!

Name the day and time and place and I will be there. It will be great to put faces with names!

Hey, everyone: the March weekend dates are: 4th & 5th, 11th & 12th, 18th & 19th, and 24th & 25th.

April dates are: 1st & 2nd, 8th & 9th, 15th & 16th, 22nd & 23rd, and 29th & 30th. So, 5 weekends to chose from there. (Except the one when Heather has a shower to attend.)

Anyone have a preference? I'm wondering if winter is going to wait until February to hit, so it may still be miserable around the beginning of March. Maybe waiting until April will assure nicer weather for travel. Who knows? We do live in Texas, after all! LOL!

The floor is open for discussion. Since I am off on weekends and DH will not be coming with me, I am flexible. So, let's hear from those of you with time/day/other constraints so we can figure out a day EVERYONE can attend!

My DH is only off on Sunday, and I'd love for him to be able to come... it's also usually easier to get my niece to babysit on Sunday. If we do April, then I'd be voting for the 16th.

I think winter just finally hit here, but not bad yet

Who knows when it will really get here? DH says that he can remember a huge blizzard on Easter one year.
