Am I the only one who's feet seem to be shrinking? I went from a size 8 to a size 9 while I was pregnant, and now after losing 30 pounds all of my shoes are TOO BIG! I have to wear really thick socks to keep my shoes from flopping around on my feet, and it's driving me CRAZY!

I love shoes, and I love shoe shopping.
I really should get rid of some old ones and go shopping.
yeah. thats what I should do.

even my cowboy boots are too loose now and I need thick socks.

I have shrunk about a half a size as well which is great because I was wearing 10.5/11's and now I am wearing 10s which are much easier to find. I am so happy with this development.

A friend of mine lost two sizes shoe after losing 90 pounds.

Yep, your feet are shrinking. Be prepared to buy new shoes. The first time I lost 80 lbs, my sleeves and pant legs all got too long. I had a coat that fit me one winter, and the next it looked like I was a little girl wearing Mommy's coat. I was noticing today that my shoes seemed to be slipping off my heels. Good. I have some shoes that were a little snug. I'd better try them on again, huh?

i am the shortest one of the girls in my family.. with the biggest feet..*L*
i always hoped for a surgury that could cut a few inches out..without making me unable to walk..


my shoes got alot looser... but the length never seemed to change...

hi my name is amanda and im new today and im just wondering that as you lose weight do your feet shrink too! as i am 19 and a stressing size 9 therefore i can get no nice shoes as my feet are wide please help

Welcome, Amanda.

Many people shrink their shoe size when they lose weight. However, some of us need a wider width for other reasons. For instance, I broke my right great toe many years ago and have some arthritic problems in that joint. Although I went from a 6 1/2 to a 6 (US size - which I understand to be 4 in the UK and 36/37 Euro), I still need the wider last so my toe doesn't hurt. LOL!

Amanda, my daughter lost about 85 lbs and went from a size 9 to a size 8. She had problems buying shoes, and now it's much easier for her to find shoes to fit.

I'll probably always need a wide width because I have really high arches, and I just can't get that part of my foot in most regular width shoes. I was that way when I only weighed 130 lbs.

It's gonna be fun buying new, smaller shoes, don't ya think?

My feet have done this! My feet were so big that I could only wear sandles!! I was so embarrased shoe shopping with my family for a big church event and not being able to find any shoes. We found some that strapped across the top. Now I love shoes and am wearing an 8 1/2 wide. I bet I was in a double wide just like me .
