| Thought you guys would be interested in this... AMERICAN IDOL SEASON 5 TV SCHEDULE By Bill Keveney, USA TODAY With less than a month until the premiere of Fox's American Idol, it's not too early for fans to start making viewing plans. Idol premieres Jan. 17 (8 p.m. ET/PT), with the first of seven audition episodes from San Francisco, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Las Vegas, Denver and Greensboro, N.C. Two-hour episodes air Jan. 17 and 24, with one-hour shows Jan. 18, 25, 31 and Feb. 1 and 7 (8 p.m. ET/PT). Singers who win the judges' approval will move on to Idol's Hollywood round, airing Feb. 8, 14 and 15 (8 p.m. ET/PT). The semifinalists ? 12 men and 12 women ? will be announced Feb. 15. The men will perform Feb. 21; the women, Feb. 22. The two men and two women with the fewest viewer votes will be eliminated in a Feb. 23 results show (8 p.m. ET/PT). The top 12 finalists will be announced March 9, with the finals round starting March 14 (8 p.m. ET/PT). Judge Randy Jackson says the best male and female singers appear to be balanced in ability this season. "The kids this time probably want this worse than ever," he told reporters in a conference call. "There's quite a bit of interesting fighting and dialogue amongst the contestants." http://www.usatoday.com/life/televis...schedule_x.htm |

| Okay, Rhonetta was a bleepin' hoot!!! She's just so bleepin' talented, I couldn't stand it. Her bleepin' sequins could prolly be seen for bleepin' miles. It's a good thing she didn't drink any of Paula's bleepin' water. It might have ruined her bleepin' wonderful voice!!! LOLOLOLOLOLOL ![]() I think Mr. Michael Jackson-wanna-be would have done better if he had painted himself green and come on as a frog imitating Michael. And what was up with the femmy guy that was shakin' his booty at the panel while singing Paula's song. TOOOOO FUNNY!!!! Tomorrrow nights should be even better, being in San Fran!!!!

| I think the little guy who auditioned MJ, had some problems and I'm not referring to his voice. They only selected nine from NC, not a lot. What about the gal who auditioned in lingere, she said her mom was a stripper! Happy, happy for the girl who had been in 40something foster homes. Watch closely the young lady with long blond hair, last name of Pickens/Pickney or something of that sort. I've heard that Simon has predicted her to be the winner this year. She lives with her grandfather because her mother abandoned her at age two. Her father is in prison. Remember last year with Simon and Carrie. The young 17 YO girl was great. Remember, her grandmother was with her and had won two Grammys back years ago while she was performing. Tomorrow night, again at 7:00 p.m. CST. |

| I loved these three gals: Kellie Pickler, Paris (girl with grandmother) and the one that was in the foster homes. I'd love to see all three in the final 12. Kellie even had me tearing up over her life story and that's quite a feat! As for the girl in the fringe "outfit", as soon as she walked in I said to DH that there was a stripper somewhere in her story. And sure enough, there was. I don't know why these girls think that trashy is going to get them on the show; do they not watch it? Surely they'd notice that it doesn't tend to go over too well with either the judges or the voting audience. And Rhonetta? Oh my, all that laughing nearly put a permanent pain in my side! She sure was some piece of work! My poor DH, being the conservative guy that he is, nearly crawled under his chair when she was "auditioning." Loved the guy that was dancing with Paula as he sang. And Randy and Simon were hilarious as they sat on the sidelines watching it.

| Did anyone watch last week? I made notes, reread them and now can't remember any of the contestants. Oh well. On to a new week. Tonight's was very entertaining with the CSI parody and the collage of all the contestants singing the same song. TOO FUNNY!!!! The last guy, the one with the gray hair, reminded me of Elvis. He would probably do a very good impression of him. What is with these tone deaf people that think they can sing? Like the heavy set woman that auditioned last year, who brought her sister on. HOW in the world do these people think they can sing, I just don't get it. I liked the little Asian twins, I thought they had potential and were cute. Maybe they'll try again next year along with some maturity.

| The guy who works at the Venetian was good, they didn't send him through. I dunno. I really can't figure it out. The gal who sang Gretchen Wilson's "Redneck Woman", was ok, but the Venetian guy was far better. I watched both nights last week, I didn't comment on Wednesday because it was much of the same. Guess everybody has heard by now that the twins who made it, have some charges pending or something. Idol has revolked the invitation, the are out of the competition. Also heard they already have a recording contract, I supposed between court hearings they do songs. I think the judges appear to be tired and burnt out on auditions. It shows a lot. They are putting these folks who can't sing a note through simply for the sake of ratings, period. It's time to get on with the competition, enough of the audtions. Tomorrow night, more of the same. |
