For those of you who know and love the Doctor, he's coming to SciFi channel Friday night.
For those of you who say, "Who's Dr. Who?", here is a site that gives you an overview of this series that's been around since 1963.

Basically, the Doctor is a Time Lord who travels in space and time, picking up and dropping off various companions, saving the world and universe from evil aliens intent on taking over whatever world or galaxy they come across.
His mode of transport is a TARDIS - Time And Relative Dimensions In Space, and it is in the form of a blue police box. Normally a TARDIS can be turned into any shape, but the Doctor's chameleon circuit is broken, so it always looks like a police box. And the TARDIS is HUGE inside, even though it's not a lot larger than a good-sized outhouse!
The shows coming to SciFi are the 9th Doctor, played by Christopher Eccleston. His companion this time is Rose, played by Billie Piper.
I have had the privilege of seeing all but one episode of this series, from the beginning, and my family and I love it. Be warned, it is very, very British, but I love British stuff, anyway. It was originally aimed at children, but has been done so that adults love it, too.
Ah, and the monsters! Daleks, Cybermen, Sontarens, and of course, the Doctor's archenemy, the Master. What fun!
It will be on Friday after Stargate, but they will still be showing Stargate Atlantis and Battlestar Galactica after Dr. Who, so those of you who are die-hard fans of those shows can still see them, albeit late.
Even if you aren't a big sci-fi fan, you might give this show a try. It has endured all these years, with a huge following, so it must have some redeeming qualities!
