Wow. That's cool. I've never watched the show before, but I tuned in for the last part last night. It's interesting, and I may go ahead and DVR the series.

Weren't they a little harsh on Jen last night? What do you think?

I DVR'd it last night but have not watched it. I will tonight. So because of that I won't check out the recap you posted MK but will include a link to NBC's BL website as well.

http://www.nbc.com/The_Biggest_Loser/

Can't wait to watch it tonight and post my comments.

I'm so excited that we can still watch our home state work hard and they still get a chance at the Biggest Loser. Here is my guy and week one. Mark, MT

Goal Clothes: A nice pair of button-fly jeans

Biography
Mark is an outgoing motorcycle cop who was a lean 190 lbs when he joined the force. After being hit by a car while on duty and going through a lengthy recovery, Mark gained 65 pounds. Mark is soon to be married and is determined to get in shape and start a new life with his fianc?, and to live to see his future children grow up. Mark wants to get back the physique that allowed him to do all the things he loves, like hiking and exploring the natural beauty of Montana. He wants his success to inspire others to go for their dreams too, even if they seem impossible.

Goal weight: 185

Why the weight gain: I just did not have a starting point for a healthy lifestyle combining exercise and nutrition. That with sitting around for six months after a work-related motorcycle verses car accident, I gained 65 pounds.

Biggest hope: (A) My biggest hope is that I can inspire others to do what they think is the impossible with their weight and mental issues. (B) This will change my life for the better because I get to be a small part of something big that I hope will change the attitudes and lifestyles of obese people across the United States and abroad.

Motivation/reason for wanting to lose the weight: I want to live to see my future children grow-up. There are too many things I have yet to accomplish in my life.

Hardest thing about being overweight: Is knowing that I could change my attitude but with justifiable excuses I chose not to.

Dream physical activity: To run in a marathon

Best physical feature: I am told it is my "Bumm"

Mantra: Where there is will there is always a way. If you give-up you will always wonder forever what could have been that you should had done today.

Hardest part about losing the weight at home: Staying focused on the reality that this is for life, so I have to set myself short- termed goals to keep my motivation in check.

Most valuable thing you learned at the ranch: Obese people are not alone in their situations and that the Biggest Loser Staff taught me to realize that people really do care about our lives and will help you change. All you have to do is ask!!!

I loved his video: http://www.nbc.com/The_Biggest_Loser...t_mark/videos/

He really is a great choice for our state!! Go Mark!!

Thanks so much for that MaryKay. I saw that my Montana man is 12 pounds loss week one. Poor Kansas was at zero. I hope she can do better because I think it would be tough to be monitored by the world and not do at least okay.

I think they were a little rough on Jen. This is in front of the world and I think they should have kept that in mind. On the bright side she has lost an amazing amount of weight so far and I bet she will look fabulous at the reunion. Maybe the tough love got her butt into gear. Sometimes it sparks that "I'll show them" attitude that can drive us.

What I'd like to know is what Jen said to make that girl go off on her. When they were voting her off it seems like they all had something negative to say about her. She must have had a poor attitude towards the whole thing. It's tough when you only see what's been pieced together it seems like they already villified that girl that yelled at her. I know I've got to learn their names.

I was so excited to see that this time they finally have bigger women on the show. I know the last of the weight is probably the hardest to lose but getting started is a big step for most of these people. And we supersized girls need to see that we can get out there and do this too. (OK I think technically they call women superBBWs when they are over 350 or 400 but you know what I mean). There are some giant men this time too.

The sad thing is that when the big boys got on I'd think "oh that's where I am" with the guys about 350. When I know very well I'm not but I was around 340-350 for so long that's in my head. Now I can look at the women and say "no, that's where I am" because like I was saying in my journal, I'm tall and fairly solid so I can be a true 22 at 280 pounds.

I'm looking forward to this season. I don't have any favorites yet either. I do like the fireman with his story but I like most of their stories.

Heather went off on Jennifer - which cracked me up, because she only lost 9 lbs to jen's 8. not much better.
But I guess Jen was slacking off during the workouts and stuff, and making negative comments - she may just have been a late starter, because she seemed to do great after she left there.

I like the Alaskan girl - Kai after the first episode - short spikey hair - she seems like she will be fun, and successful.

Bobby (fireman) is nice and a family guy, but also seems to be a bit of a whiner. I enjoy Ken (Hair guy) - he's funny -
I'm hoping they all do well, and looking for inspiration .

Thanks so much for starting this thread, Mary Kay! Now that my dh and I are retired, we try to watch TV together at night. He really doesn't like ANY of the reality shows, except for Amazing Race. So, I didn't get to see BL. I did DVR it and will watch it this weekend.

Thanks too, for the recap from anyone who does it on this thread! I love it!! I don't know what it is about this show, but I am so hooked by the commitment of those who keep going. I suppose that is because I simply have lost my commitment for the time being. It will come back, I know it will. I'm just in a kind of tough place with moving across country in two weeks.

Peace, Peg

I will be updating the spreadsheet each week, and also doing a mini-cap for the other site that I will also post here. sort of a highlight/scoreboard type thing.

And I have done the WATP tape 2 mornings, and my core/ball yesterday. so, it seems to be inspiring me to get off my butt for now.

It inspired me as well last night, MK. Watching it I did 30 minutes on the recumbent bike instead of my usual 15. (I took ibuprofen before bed so I wouldn't be too sore today.) And I started my crunches again. Watching them I made a challenge to myself to do that every day of the week adding crunches, as many as I can do, every time. Don't know what the schedule of adding time to the bike will be yet.

I mean if those big people can do the exercise I know I can, and I use to years ago at my size.

Just an update for all the season 2 fans. Matt and Suzy just got married and are currently honeymooning in Jamaica. I was just wondering about them. So in case you were there's the scoop.

OK I know they spin these shows a bit with editing. But dang the blue team was annoying me last night with their cocky attitude. It's only been one weigh-in. You can't get high and mighty yet. Even if the other team doesn't seem as unified.

The red team might not like the trainer but she sure whipped their booties into a frenzy and caused some big numbers.

I was trying to figure out who I like best and i think I'm liking Pam. Just because she seems so fragile. She reminds me of me many years back. I like Kai too. So I guess I've sided wtih the Red team for now.

Tiffany was not one o fmy favorites but I liked Melinda less so I had hoped she would be the one to go. Tiffany seems to have struggled but at least she admits it and is really trying. After watching last year's finale I kept thinking it has to be hard for the folks that came back without posting HUGE losses after they left.

I'm cheering on the ND work at home contestant. Only becuase that's where I'm originally from and it will always be home to me. So I was glad to see her on last night. She is doing very well. And believe me with the casseroles and potatoes that come out on the tables in ND I know it's a struggle.

I guess its perception. I don't like the Red team. they are way too whiny and complain about everything. And they seem way too full of themselves as individuals.

I was really glad to see Kim whup them up and down the beach.
But my cheering is for the Blue Team.

Heres the current numbers:

Thanks so much for the info! Wow, they couldn't be a better fit going through all they did together.

My montana man is still down 12 pounds which is great. I do really like the ND girl too Cushie.
