Default I am a fat man

Hello, I am a fat man and have been on diets and drink 8 glasses of water, exercise more and still no weight loss. I gave up salt too to get rid of bloat and it only helped a little. Drs told me my thyroid is larger than usual, but gave me no medication. I probably eat less than you skinny people most of the times and more veggies too. And still I don’t loose weight. I s there any way to loose weight fast?

Welcome to our little community.

Have you ever tried doing a low carb way of eating? Here it seems that Atkins is the most popular plan, but many follow Protein Power, South Beach, The Zone, etc.

The best thing for you to do is to find a plan that appeals to you, read the book, and then set up your kitchen with the foods you need, getting rid of any sugary or starchy foods not accepted on your plan.

I love low carb. I don't have to bother with counting calories, I can have all the fat I want, all I have to do is keep my carbs low enough that I continue to lose regularly. I don't even have to worry about lots of exercise, although I do need to do some weight training for building muscle, which we lose as we age.

And losing weight fast - it's not about getting it all off at once. Most of us took quite a long time to gain all this fat, so we need to be patient and lose slowly and steadily. And even if you find you have only small losses at first (not everyone gets a visit from the "whoosh fairy" and loses vast amounts in the first week, it's not realistic to expect that), you are going to see significant changes in your overall health. And even if your weight loss is really slow, like mine, you're still going to feel so much better. That's what low carb does for us.

I hope you find a plan that you like and that works for you. You'll find lots of good people here who are more than willing to give you all the support you need with your chosen plan.
