Default Favorite Web Sites

Do you have any favorite web sites, besides those devoted to low carb or health, that you think others might enjoy visiting?

I subscribe to Botany Photo of the Day.

Botany Photo of the Day

No, I know nothing about botany, I have a black thumb, can kill a tree by looking at it! I love getting my daily photo, though. I've seen plants from all over the world, some absolutely breathtaking, some really weird looking, some very familiar. I really look forward to getting my daily dose of botany, and I've even used the photos for my desktop background. Right now I have a beautiful pink flower that is native to Israel on my work computer. It brightens my day to have such a pretty picture to look at. And best of all, these "plants" last for a long time.

Now, what web sites would you like to share?

Wow, Nita! Very cool, and excellent photography. Thanks for the heads up.

One of my favorite sites is a humorous news site, the Onion.

Sometimes the regular news is mighty silly, but in case one misses the insanity, the Onion will point it out.

I have a lot of friends with blogs, and that is pretty much how we keep in touch. So I'm on those a lot. Also, the MilitarySpouse.com site.

My dh just showed me this site, and it's really interesting:

One Week Job

He's doing this for charity, and it's really a hoot to read all the jobs he's had this past year. Wouldn't you love to have his energy?

I love this site!

Read book online: Literature books, novels, short stories,fiction,non-fiction, poems, essays, plays,Pulitzer prize, Nobel prize

There are all kinds of classic books you can read online. Novels, short stories and poems. Can't find a copy of Alice in Wonderland? You can read it here, but sadly, without the wonderful illustrations. Always wanted to read Little Women? It's here, too. And many, many authors I've never heard of.

It's a nice little library right on your computer screen. And it's free, too.

I have too many favorites to list here.

This one is where I get almost all my books including my Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution. PaperBack Swap: Online Book Club offers Free Books When you Trade, Swap or Exchange used books You can list all your old used books, and they do not have to be paperbacks.......just in good conditon (not falling apart or unreadable). Then you can put all the books you want on your "wish list" and when they come into the club they are sent to you. All you pay for is shipping the books that are requested from you.

They also have SwapaCD: Online Music Club offers Free CDs when you Trade, Swap or Exchange CDs where you can list your cds that you do not listen to anymore. You can request cds or you can transfer the credits for books which is what I have been doing.
