| Hi, rrjcn. As we were trying to explain to you in your other thread, glycerine, sugar alcohols and various other additives cause a majority of people to stall. I test my blood sugar and these items cause it to rise in a significant way. If your blood sugar goes up, your insulin goes up, if your insulin goes up, you are storing new fat, not buring what you have. There are some people who do not seem to react badly to glycerine etc. Until you know for sure that you are not adversely impacted by these additives, it is safest to calculate your carbs: TOTAL CARBS - FIBER = NET CARBS. By way of historical perspective. I started this woe in 1998 and still have my copy of DANDR. In that edition, glycerine, sugar alcohols, etc are NOT acceptable foods. That was written before he got into the retail food business and discovered that it is almost impossible to make a shelf-stable and acceptable looking retail product without all these additives. After he went into the lc food business, the advice in his book changed. I don't think the facts did. I hope this helps clarify the issue for you.
