I got the following email this morning from a friend. It sounds like there are some things I didn't know about dryer sheets!

BOUNCE THIS AROUND

And all this time you've just been putting Bounce in he dryer!

It will chase ants away when you lay a sheet near them.

It also repels mice.. spread them around foundation areas, or in trailers or cars that are sitting and it keeps mice from entering
your vehicle.

It takes the odor out of books and photo albums that don't get opened too often.

Repels mosquitoes. Tie a sheet of Bounce through a belt loop when outdoors during mosquito season.

Eliminates static electricity from your television (or computer) screen.

Since Bounce is designed to help eliminate static cling, wipe your television screen with a used sheet of Bounce to keep dust from resettling.

Dissolve soap scum from shower doors. Clean with a sheet of Bounce.

Freshen the air in your home. Place an individual sheet of Bounce in a drawer or hang in the closet.

Put Bounce sheet in vacuum cleaner.

Prevent thread from tangling. Run a threaded needle through sheet of Bounce before beginning to sew.

Prevent musty suitcases. Place an individual sheet of Bounce inside empty luggage before storing.

Freshen the air in your car. Place a sheet of Bounce under the front seat.

Clean baked-on foods from a cooking pan. Put a sheet in a pan, fill with water, let sit overnight, and sponge clean. The anti-static agent apparently weakens the bond between the food.

Eliminate odors in wastebaskets. Place a sheet of Bounce at the bottom of the wastebasket.

Collect cat hair. Rubbing the area with a sheet of Bounce will magnetically attract all the loose hairs.

Eliminate static electricity from venetian blinds. Wipe the blinds with a sheet of Bounce to prevent dust from resettling.

Wipe up sawdust from drilling or sand papering. A used sheet of Bounce will collect sawdust like a tack cloth.

Eliminate odors in dirty laundry. Place an individual sheet of Bounce at the bottom of a laundry bag or hamper.

Deodorize shoes or sneakers. Place a sheet of Bounce in your shoes or sneakers overnight.

Golfers put a Bounce sheet in their back pocket to keep the bees away.

Put a Bounce sheet in your sleeping bag and tent before folding and storing them. Keeps them smelling fresh.

Blessings!

Well, I have to testify to the mosquito repellant thing. But I had read to actually *rub it on* your skin, not just tie one to the belt loop...
We were in a bind and were going to be outdoors for an evening event and we were out of "Skin So Soft (Avon)" so I rubbed the Bounce sheets all over us.
NO BITES!
And this was from 5-8 pm on a Louisiana summer evening!
Although, I must say, when I got home I immediately had to take a shower. It was starting to itch. But there was no serious reaction.

Oh, the dusting thing works, too. I have used them to dust my blinds and miscellaneous furniture and it does a great job... and it makes your house smell nice.

Sorta related...

I use to use Head & Shoulders for what I thought was dandruff. That was until one day I accidentally grabbed a bottle of H&S next to the kitchen sink (I had hair then. LOL) and used it to clean the bicycle grease off of my hands. WOW...it worked better then the hand cleaner I was actually wanting to use.

I figured that if it worked that well on grease, what the heck was it doing to my scalp!? I stopped using it and coincidently stopped having dandruff. GO FIGURE! LOL

HANG IN THERE!!!

Don

Sharron

This is amazing!! I will certainly try some of these tips. Mosquitos tend to chew me up..

Don - a hairdresser told me some years back that H&S had the strength of oven cleaner and should never be used on hair!! However, I believe the manufacturers have changed the formula and at least one women's mag over here has recently praised it. I used to NEED it or similar for my itchy scalp, which has driven me nuts most of my life. Since I started low carbing, I've had much less trouble with itching however....

Great tips! I've always used them for my tv and monitor screens.

I suspect that, for me, they won't work for all the uses listed, since I only buy the kind that has no smell.

i did find that it did NOT work too well for dusting blinds.

it was leaving that residue behind

i was having a terrible time doing all that dusting, everything i used left lint or somethign behind... until i grabbed the Pledge Clothes... worked like a charm.... and considering i have 17 sets of Faux Wood blinds - it was a blessing to find something that worked.
(man.. what was i thinking when we decided to put up all those blinds?!)
