Just thought I'd share a useful website I found. Not sure how useful yet but time will tell. Here's the link; http://www.mybodycomp.com/members/home.asp ewwwww! just noticed something horriffic. I had a bloody nose this morning and went through a half dozen tissues. Just looked and all the tissues are out of the trash scattered on the rug - Minus the bloody spots! SOPHIE! Sorry this had nothing to do with the intention of this post. ![]() Rob 310/241/180

I have two dogs and can't leave any tissues, paper towels (especially if used as a napkin) in the garbage cans - either have to flush or put a lid on cans.... or else I find them scattered all over the house... in shreds.... can understand totally what sophie was doing. ![]() carolyn in texas started 8/11/03 327/300/150

LOL! I haven't been able to have a lidless garbage can in 20 years, and have even had to put baby locks on my kitchen cabinets...Love those dogs with their innocent faces and the evidence all over them.... "Who me, Mom????" BC 172/108/108 Zone since 4/98

Sophie does have extra long canine teeth. Hmmm? I had to buy a garbage can with a lid when sophie was a puppy. Then one day, a few months ago, I scrubbed the can and set it in the sun to dry. Someone stole the lid. why????? Oh well - luckily we love our dogs or we would never put up with them. Yes I love that look of innocence but Oh to walk downstairs in the morning and find half the trash on the carpet and that look does her no good.

| I know how you feel, Rob. But my philosophy is that I can't blame a dog for doing what comes naturally if I'm not around to deflect the behavior. The instinct to scavenge is really strong in most dogs. So it's my job as the human (who has some strange idea that garbage raiding isn't a good idea) to prevent the problem from happening in the first place. Lesson learned years ago when one of my 14 pound dogs ate a whole roasted chicken carcass while I was at work by learning to open the cabinet under the sink where I kept the garbage. She survived, but it was a long, expensive, and terrifying few days. And totally my fault for leaving something so tempting even remotely available to a creative, unsupervised poochie. | Ahhh fellow dog lovers! Yes! I have a little mutt who is a tiny little thing. We don't know what she is. She has the face of a pit bull puppy, her body has the colorings of a Jack Russell terrier, her feet are shaped like a welsh corgi and she also looks like a Beagle. Anyway.... she has now figured out that if I pick up my purse then that means I'm leaving and THAT means she has to go into her crate (otherwise she'll pull a stunt like Rob's dog) so she quick runs and hides under the stairs and pokes that innocent little "maybe-she-won't-notice-I'm-here" face very hesitantly out at me. Cracks me up. I love dogs. I love their little personalities. LOL Michelle -- 208/194/140 Started Atkins 9/03 Days exercised in November **** |
