| Has anyone ever noticed that your computer clock is never very accurate? I noticed that on my computer almost from the beginning. Seems it's common for computer clocks to lose or gain a lot over time. Mine gains about 38 seconds a week. That's 2 minutes and 45 seconds a month. Or about 33 minutes a year. That would never do for me so I set out to find a solution. I searched the web and found some shareware that will set yoyr clock to the official U.S. atomic Clock time. supposedly it's accurate to within a few seconds per century. anyway when my trial period ran out tehy asked for 10 or 15 dollars. I did more research and found out that the program they were trying to sell me is public domain freeware. Here's a link to a free download. http://www.boulder.nist.gov/timefreq/service/its.htm Rob 310/237.5/180 Me, a skeptic? I trust you have proof One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor |

| Rob ~ Maybe you can find an on-line tracking progam where you could keep detailed records of exactly how much time your computer loses or gains over the course of the year? OK, I'm sorry, I'm sorry! I just couldn't resist picking on you - we know how you are - (smiling, I hope!) Sky |

| I never had that problem at home (mac OS), although I've noticed it at work until the most recent upgrade (windows OS). Apple's got three time servers in the country and you can choose to hook up to one of them, or add a time server of your own choice. I've always used their east coast server and my time is right on whenever I check against the atomic clock site. I think, when the upgraded to XP at work, they also hooked the network into some kind of time server, since the time on my work computer has remained correct. This is the first time in 10 years that it has been accurate every day. Before that I was constantly going to an atomic clock site and re-setting it, which was a pain in the butt. | LOL - I think they have that accumulated lost time feature. 3.1 - indeed This Nistime also has an auto update election as part of the program. I don't use it because it would require me to load this program at startup and would slow the system down. I just wanted to save some people from buying something that's free.
