Carol,

I have not done the "Liver Cleanse," but I did do the "Master Cleanse" for the full ten days -- last spring, before I got pregnant: see: Master Cleanse

I had two rather profound observations:
1) The cleanse really empowered me with a sense of self-discipline. I felt like once I had done that, I could do *anything*! LOL
I did, indeed, feel *cleaned out* and healthier,
HOWEVER
2) my second revelation was: I do NOT like being hungry.
Immediately following the cleanse (after the slow reintroduction of food), I found that all of my old *food demons* and obsessions had been reawakened by the intense hunger. I never got to that state of *euphoric non-hunger* that so many people describe. It took me a full two months to completely get back on track with my LC woe (way of eating). I guess the psychological impact of the cleanse was two-fold: good and bad.

While I think cleanses *can be* beneficial to our bodies and health -- especially if we have not been kind to our bodies -- I think one has to really weigh the pros and cons of doing one. IMHO, it is far better to eat a healthy diet for life than to do *extreme repairs* through cleanses/fasting.
I also wonder if *gradual* changes and life-long good habits aren't a better way to affect our vital organs than these sudden, radical purgings...
Anyway, these are just my musings on the subject and my reflections following my own cleanse trial.
Ultimately, you have to decide what is best for you and for your body.
I wish you the best!

Summer

Thanks Summer. sorry I didnt post back sooner. We are having some computer troubles.

I found some stuff on Liver cleansing from our local health food store. I may give that a try next month. Simple stuff really...but it cost so darn much to do it low carb way! i dont have the link here with me but the ND has alot of info that is great. I will post the link if anyone is wanting to know.

Blessings,

Carol
