Hi fellow animal lovers,

Yes, I have pets. Right now, we have five.

Dogs-Boca, a black lab we saved from an abusive situation. He was kept in his crate 24 hours a day for over six months. He was a difficult pet at first. He is now about seven years old and settled in nicely. BTW, Boca means mouth in spanish. He has a huge mouth and eats us out of house and home.
Legolas- an italian greyhound. He is Boca's mini me. He is adorable. Both dogs sleep with me in the bed. That is why I need to lose weight. We need the room!

Cat- Bonkers.....and he is! That is all that is needed to be said.

Iguana- Amos- Another rescue situation. Animal was burned, starving, was supposed to die in days. We fed with eyedroppers and nursed back to health. He has been with us for four years now.

Turtle- Rudolf. We have had three turtles. Two females and one male. The male has outlived the females, both his mates....one at a time. He is looking for a third wife. Please foward any resumes.
He is 20 years old, but still sexually active.

I can not mention pets without telling you about Snap and Bear Snap died in a housefire. I loved that guy. And Bear I had for over fifteen years, went through a divorce, a remarriage, and back to college with me. He died last spring. I miss him immensely. Both dogs were good loyal mutts.

Well, that's my story.

Peace, Joanna

Love your stories.

Dogface, my hat is off to you, as always. It takes lots of love, sacrifice, work, and bucks to do rescue work. Hugs, doggie.

Two miniature poodles live with DH and I. They are smarter than we are.

Dear Dogface,

You are a truly special person.

I dont really have much of a yard at the moment but my fiance knows as soon as I get a bigger yard every stray possible will be welcome at my home.

I take my samoyeds to hospitals to visit the sick and elderly and the patients absolutely love it and so do my dogs.

RIP Yoshi (my late maltese) - I still miss you darling.

What can I say? I've been hooked on cats since I was a kid. Dh and I currently have 7 kitties:

The indoor bunch-

Charlie, a black and white tuxedo who is really a rottweiler in disguise; Cary, a huge hunk of white fluff who drops pounds of hair everywhere he goes just like Trina's cat; Spencer, a gorgeous brown and black marble tabby; and Lorelai (Spencer's sister) who was born white and has since started to develop grey tabby points on her face, legs and tail.

The outdoor bunch-

Mickey, white with grey splotches; Ella Mae, all black with one white whisker; and Bubbaloo who is all grey.

We love them to pieces and I couldn't imagine life without them. I never thought I'd end up with so many cats but every one of them has been adopted by showing up on our door-step (Spencer and Lorelai were literally born on it.) We've also taken a lot of kitties to shelters over the years. As Dogface said, please spay and neuter your pets!

I am the mother of Ramona Margaret, a 5 year old greyhound/border collie mix...she is black and white and very slinky...long and thin and runs like the wind! And as of 2 weeks ago, Grace Mildred came into my life...my very first cat. She is about 3 and declawed on all 4 feet, and a tiger cat with a calico belly that she loves to have rubbed!
I don't understand people who don't love animals...a friend of mine complains that Ramona's tail HURTS her. Sheesh~

I am Mom to a 11 year old Corgi/Shelti mix we got from the pound. Her name is Miss Murphy, Murphy for short. Named after Murphy Brown on television. She has quite an attitude and is sure she is the only dog in the world.
Rules this house and we humans know our place. She sleeps on the bed lying between DH and I with her head on the pillow. Sometimes she sleeps with her head lying on my cheek.
Ah the smell of doggie breath in the morning.
I wouldn't trade her for the world and neither would DH.

Shortie, if you have time for more e-mail, let me know and I will send you the information about how to sign up for the Corgi-L list. It's like these forums only it's sent by e-mail; a very friendly group of Corgi owners (purebreds and Corgi crosses both) and Corgi owner "wannabes." It has a ton of great information, funny and touching stories, information about dog-related activities, and so forth. It is one of the longest running e-mail forums on the Internet, because it's such a great group!

Aderyn,
Thanks for the info. I will file it for later use. My plate is way too full at the moment. LOL.
It is nice to know that there are other Corgi wannabe's out there. I know my Miss Murphy thinks she is the Queen's dog because she sure acts like a princess. LOL

Pets - let's see, do I have any pets.... Hmmm, no the animals we have think WE are THEIR pets LOL!!!

2 inside cat/kittens (got them both in June 2003 from and animal shelter - one for each kid) - one female siamese (the sweetest thing) and one male unknown breed - both fixed. One outside cat (she got jealous of a previous cat and let us know about it - all over the house), one dwarf frog, two goldfish, one larger by the day water turtle that hibernates in an aquarium in our garage in the winter, and in his pond from spring thru the fall.

Who can live without pets?!?

Remember I Cor. 13 - charity never faileth.
