Just wondering if anybody else is a pet lover? And if so, what kind? I personally have fallen head over heals in love with boxer since I got my "Kiki", and "Ninja". My "fur" kids, as I refer to them. ![]() Kristie 168/158/115 When I am blue.....I remember to breath again

My goodness, Jackie, you are an animal lover! I have a dog, and she is plenty. She's a Weimeraner (those are the dogs that Wegamn takes all the pictures of - gray with yellow eyes). Anyone who has ever had one will know that they are a handful - the world's sweetest. most loving dog, but they WILL rule the house if your let them. Ya gotta be strong! My poor husband - I don't think he bargained for a Weimeraner when he married me! Jen 175/129/120

we have two dogs, one cocker spaniel - tan colored that we have had since he was a puppy, now 12 years old (he came from two very calm cockers so he is pretty calm for a cocker.) His name is Murphy Joe Cocker Brown - Murphy Joe for short. The other is a King Charles Spaniel - a little lap dog - she came to us about 3 years ago, showed up outside and we took her in, put up signs, call the pound, and humane society, but no one claimed her. She is sweet, her name is Bitsy, about 8 years old - This is my story about her - she was an elderly persons baby, and they either died or went into a nursing home and the family came in and the dog got out....of course, who knows, but we love her, and Murphy tolerates her and she tolerates him... so... that is our family http://www.youravon.com/cnorulak carolyn in texas started 8/11/03 327/290/150

I'm a definite critter lover! Never could cotton up to two legged babies but give me a four legged one and I'm a happy camper. We currently have two sister kitties, they're 15 now. The mama was feral so these two tip the scales at about 7 pounds each. They are poly-digital, meaning many extra toes. Both are black, one has white Sylvester markings. Her name is ToTo (for obvious reasons!) and her sister is Lucky, for surviving a trip through the fan belt of my truck when she was tiny. No dogs at the mo, we had to have our beloved Rottie put down just about 2 years ago, she lived to a ripe old age for that breed, though, age 12. We sure miss her. I've also raised, trained, and shown Arabian horses in my past. Nowadays, I'm too old to fall that far so haven't ridden in about 10 years. I sure miss them too! Char Don't squat with yer spurs on!

| I'm a major dog lover. The dog is my avatar (i think thats what it is) is Kane. He is sitting under my desk as I'm writing this. He is an 80 pound teddy bear with oh so much hair. I also have a female samoyed as well. They are my surrogate children and sleep on our bed at night. As a child I bought every stray animal home and have every kind of criter imaginable. | When I was a kid my Dad told me I could have all the critters I wanted....when I left home. So, I've taken him up on it. I have 2 dogs, both Japanese Chins. Lily and Sora. I also have 5 cats in the house, and about 10 outside that are strays but need to be fed too. I'd have more dogs but there is no room on my desk. That's right, my dogs come to work with me and they each lay on a blanket on each side of my desk. Good thing my boss is an animal lover too. The desk is in front of a window and they can see the comings and goings of everyone. Life just wouldn't be the same without critters!! Donna 238.5/170.5/150 |

| I have two beautiful dogs: Gunner, a chow mix I got from the shelter 12 years ago. Can't go wrong with a shelter dog, he has been my best friend for 12 years and has seen me through some of the toughest times of my life. Tara, a 9 year old German Shepherd Dog, (and my namesake!) I've had her since she was 6. I got her from a police officer who had to move into an apartment. She tries to be the alpha, and when I'm not home, she is "Do, or do not. | we have a very special Australian Cattle Dog. well, He's my husband's dog - he's MY empty nest puppy. He spends all day with me in the office and I would go nuts without him. got this in an email: Dear Dog, >When I say to move, it means go someplace else, not switch positions so that you are still in the way. > >The dishes with the paw print are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Please note, placing a paw print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest. > >The stairway was not designed by Nascar and is not a racetrack. Beating me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help, because I fall faster than you can run. > >I cannot buy anything bigger than a king size bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will continue to sleep on the couch to ensure your comfort. Look at videos of dogs sleeping, they can actually curl up in a ball. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other stretched out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out the other end to maximize space used is nothing but doggy sarcasm. > >My compact discs are not miniature Frisbees. > >For the last time, there is not a secret exit from the bathroom. If by some miracle I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, try to turn the knob, or get your paw under the edge and try to pull the door open. I must exit through the same door I entered. In addition, I have been using bathrooms for years, canine attendance is not mandatory. > >The proper order is kiss me, then go smell the other dogs' butts. I cannot stress this enough. It would be such a simple change for you. Mary Kay 01/02/04 - 230/220/150 Atkins 225/220/205 VDC |

Count me in for 4. First is Angus (Aelwyd Aderyn Angws), Cardigan Welsh Corgi, my show dog and my heart dog. Next is Molly, a/k/a Unsinkable Molly Brown, another Cardi who was rescued from an abuse situation when only a puppy and came to live with us. She's our "girly dog" and the light of all our lives. On the distaff side, there is Zeke, a BIG, brown and black classic tabby-stripe who started off life as a barn cat but came home with me one day as a kitten and converted to a house cat. And most recently, Patches, white with black and gray mackerel-tabby striped spots, who used to be simply a persistent stray cat but decided to move on up (and in) one day last December. It wouldn't be home without 'em! Aderyn

Our home is ruled by Muffin, a spoiled-rotten, rather crabby, 12-year-old cat, whose one great talent is dropping pounds of long, white fur everywhere she goes. I love her to death. Cooking is at once child's play and adult joy. And cooking done with care is an act of love. - Craig Claiborne

Ya'll are just amateurs. I do dog rescue and I'm currently taking care of TWENTY-FIVE dogs. Six of those are my "permanent" dogs, and about half of that number is puppies (puppies are easier, I don't count them as "whole dogs"). These are large breed dogs, too, not little lap dogs! Yeah, I'm crazy (crazier now than I was when I started this, believe me!), but I love doing it. In the past three years, I've saved over a hundred dogs. That's worth a couple of ruined carpets to me! Oh, yeah, I've also got five cats! PLEASE, EVERYBODY, SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PETS!! "A righteous man cares for the needs of his animals." -- Proverbs 12:10

We have two pets: Whiskers, The Magical Dog, and Lady, The Cat. We tease DD because she named the dog a cat name and the cat a dog name. She was 4 when she named the dog, what can I say. We call Whiskers, The Magical Dog because she manages to get out of our yard, no matter what we do to stop her. She has head-butted the boards on our fence to pop them out, she has dug holes under EVERY fence (no matter what we have put in the holes to discourage it), she climbs out (this is amazing to watch). Thus she is dubbed Whiskers, The Magical Dog. She is a terrier mix that we resucued from the shelter when she was 2. She is about 10 years old now. After she got out of the yard the first couple times, we stopped wondering why such a nice dog was in the shelter as a stray. SHE DUG HER WAY OUT OF HER LAST HOME! Lady, our cat acts like a human. She is like a little sister to my DD, meaning, she messes up her bedroom (including tearing the bed apart after DD made her bed), she goes through DD hamper dragging DD dirty clothes all over the house, she goes through her drawers and steals jewerly and pony tail holders. She and DD play tag, running through the house. She pesters DD when she's doing her homework. She does everything a little sister would do, except borrow her clothes. But they are the best of friends. The sleep together every night. Teri
