I hate cell phone abuse!

And don't EVEN get ME on my "cell phone abuse" soapbox...you won't be able to pry me off for days....LOL!!

I'm proably one of the only people that I know, that does not have a cell phone. They seem silly to me, since I'm almost always home, and those who need to get a hold of me, always knows where I am, the grocery store, Curves, or oh my gosh, my vacation day at Wal-Mart.

I was in a pretty serious accident last year, when a guy in a truck didn't see the red light, and plowed into the side of me. He told the police that he was on a very important phone call with his wife. Turns out, they were having an argument of what to have for dinner. Grrrr, hope they enjoyed their dinner, while I spent 6 days in the hospital.

I didn't sue him, every human being makes mistakes, but he did have to pay for my medical bills, and the day care for the kids when hubby had to work.

I am like you in the fact that I don't own a cell phone. DH just stated however, that since he just started going back to school, we should get one so I can get in touch with him if need be.

I agree that it seems stupid to chat it up in the grocery store or on the train. Why? Are people that bored with their lives?
I once had to listen to a lady describe her gyn visit to her girlfriend. (I am assuming)
We were standing in line at the grocery store.

Gee Kristie - Sorry to hear about the accident.
I can't say where i would have put that guys cell phone in polite company.
The stupidest place I have ever seen people chatting away is when I'm on a nature walk. I mean am i not there to get away from it all. To commune with nature and enjoy the lake and trees and birds and serenity. Even if I owned a cell phone I wouldn't bring it with me on these walks.
