My favorite radio station, WOXY.COM, ("The Future of Rock and Roll") has been sold and it seems it will no longer be broadcasting over the Internet. Needless to say, in my boondocks location we get no decent radio (nothing but top 40 all the time, although we can choose between top 40 pop or top 40 country). I like alternative rock, classic rock, "alt" punk (e.g., the Walkmen), blues, "alt" country (e.g., Son Volt), PBS "Sounds Eclectic," and that sort of thing, not necessarily in that order. Anyone got advice on some Internet stations I might try?

we have one here that is light rock on the internet now.

great morning eclectic show, it is pbs in austin, and has jazz in afternoon, blue mondays, twine time on friday night, folkways sat. mornings, check it out it is a good mix of different music.

Not sure if this is up your alley, but have you considered satellite radio? Both XM and Sirius Satellite Radio offer subscription services, but - get this - you can get it anywhere in the country, any time. Sirius has about 60 commercial free channels in addition to their other formats - XM, I am not as familiar with but I do know they aren't commercial free. You can get the "plug and play" set up which will let you get satellite radio in your car AND at home (or office). Pretty slick, and worth the $12.95 subscription price if a you a heavy radio consumer.

when im at work, i have my radio on in my office on CHOM ROCK...its rock and roll classic...often i will listen to Virgin Radio from UK which is fantastic too...you have the choice and you select what type of Music you want...here is the site:

I love british music..yes others too but overall, i think the brits have it...they have singers that you never heard of that are fantastic...example StarSailor...first time i heard of them was 2 yrs ago...now you hear them all over in canada and usa...
