:jump: for me! This was a personal challenge. I wanted to see if I could go throught the entire month of June without cheating. My definition of cheat is to eat something that NO ONE considers low carb and/or going off my eating plan for even one meal.
I had breaded onion rings once....I pulled off some of the breading and had a little ketchup, too. Was it a cheat? Those were the ONLY carbs I had consumed all day. The rest of the day was completely clean. There were a couple of days that I probably overdid it slightly with some lowcarb items, but not to the point of having a gain or really being concerned.
My weight on June 1 was 240. This was following my weekend out-of-town, visiting my best friend. I was 235 when I left. I gained 5 pounds in 4 days!! I have plodded along this month, unable to sustain my lowest weight, which was 232 for a couple of day. So, I ended this month weighing in at 233. This is 7 pounds less than when I started the month with that excess weekend baggage. AND 2 pounds less than my lowest weight in May.
Not a huge accomplishment, but a satisfying one. When I passed by my favorite donut establishment today, I considered for a few seconds, rewarding myself for doing well on my "No Cheat June". Then, I remembered that a few of those would erase my small loss for the month in just a few minutes!
I have clenched my teeth looking at Menus and buffet lines, but I think I have finally learned to say "This is just another meal...just because it's not at home doesn't make it a "Special Occasion". I've moved from being on a perpetual lowcarb diet, to living a low carb life.
I guess I just wanted to "document" this. And thanks to everyone for your encouragement along the way. Will July be a "No Cheat" July? Stay tuned!
