Hi members,

I get palpitations that seem to be related to eating - major attacks in the evening after dinner, and it finally dawned on me that all the culprint meals included copious amounts of starchy foods. Online research into the above symptom has led me to people who report cessation of palpitations on converting to a low carb diet and in some cases just dumping the starchy carbs was enough, because the palpitations were related to a reflux type of condition. And I share several other symptoms with these people.

So here I am, wondering where to start. Weight isn't really a problem, though I could do with a few less pounds/kilos. Could someone please direct me to a good low carb regime (especially low starch) to get me started? I'm a bit in the dark about it. Inexpensive and easy to prepare would be appreciated and I can be doing some good while I'm learning the finer points of low carb so I can create my own plan.

Okay i have done the Atkins diet in the past (2002) and lost 90 lbs...i know how to do it...I have in the past used the diet to shed 15 pounds or so as necessary.

But fast forward to 2009 and I'm 31 years old and I can't lose more than 2 or 3 pounds ( i have tried this diet about three times this year, as much as a month at a time). What is the problem? What has changed in me(other than my balooning weight)? I even went to ALL MEAT and no carbs in hopes that that would kick start the process no luck.

Has anybody ever heard of this before?

Other than going to the Atkins headquarters, are there local nutritionists equipped to handle this issue, and what title would i look for online when searching one out?

This time around, I want to get this problem under control. i have been in induction for about 3 days. i have eaten only 12 carbs per day and so far nothing. am i metabolically resistant? how and why has this happened?

thanks for you answers, help, and support!!!!

Ive been reading on the atkins induction that cheese should be limited to 4oz but at the same time the cheese list says that cheddar contains 0grams compared to the others that have .2g or more. Does it have any cause if it doesnt i would for sure eat more!
