o.k., o.k. Does this mean that my usual Dunkin Donuts coffee doesn't count as breakfast?

Alright - count me in. I'm horrible with constructing real breakfasts. Or I have breakfast at 11:00, which doesn't really count, does it?

If there are any oatmeal lovers in this challenge, lots of people like this:

Since it's winter in most parts, I thought it might be helpful. I have it a couple of times per week.

Breakfast? You mean food, real food, in the morning?
I'm with Tina. I'm usually ready for breakfast about 11 a.m. Some days I force myself to eat something but usually (like today) I just skip it. Or I eat a piece of cheese at 10:30 a.m. and call it breakfast.

    One hour after waking, huh?
OK...I'm in. But I'm going to need lots of hints on how to make a quick, on-the-go breakfast. The kind that's simple, easy and doesn't require a lot of night before preparation. I may have to pull out the Atkins shakes to do this. (You know, it was the Atkins shakes...a quick burst of morning protein...that eventually led me to this low carb eating.)

BTW...Atkins shakes ARE solid food. Well, at least the cans are solid.

i actualy befor reading these threads have been thinking i need to prep ahead for breakfest... and start eating more... i made a few of my egg sandwich things.. (useing my sandwich maker i dumped in 8 eggs scrambled and i have 4 on the go breakfests... tossed a few peppers in one.. some mushrooms in another a little of both in one other one... and some diced ham and swiss cheese in another... laid them on a rack to cool then put them in plastic baggs.. in morning ill pop one in the microwave for 20 sec turn over and 5-10 seconds till totaly warm.. and its done.. i was gona take some bacon and pop in my toaster oven but im fearing splatering so i might just skilit them.. so i can toss one in last few min of heating to warm it up too..

Count me in.. havent had a solid breakfest that wasnt sneaking one of those HIGH carb cookies to eat w/ my coffee...

gota whip up another batch of that biscotti.. (maggies) so i stay away from those darn cookies.. tommrow they are getting put out for the kids till they are sick of them then they go in the garbage.. so i stay aawy..

I usually have an Atkins shake...at 6am--I don't get to eat til 11:15 on normal days so the breakfast thing is a challenge for me since I am not a person to eat in the morning...I often try to down some cottage cheese or a rollup of ham and cheese with my shake...I feel better at 10 if I do that...otherwise I am often dizzy after being active all morning...but if not I drink extra water and eat promptly at 11:15...and am starving by then too! I also eat checken salad or egg salad for breakfast with some regularity when I drag myslef kicking iand screaming to the kitchen and mix it up...I make about 20 oz of chicken into chicken salad at a time--lasts a week if DH doesn't decide he needs it too...He loves chicken salad...hard boiled eggs make a great grab and go breakfast too..DD will even grab one of those occasionally but she prefers yogurt. Count me in...my goal--to eat something not just drink a shake every day starting on the 2nd of January...I also aim to go cheat free for 100 days from that day...so really starting over then!

I was considering a smoothie "solid" since i like my smoothies chunky....maybe I should call them chunkies instead??? *LOL*

I used to have a great recipe for egg and sausage muffins, they were delicious and easy to make ahead a keep in the fridge for a couple days. I cant remember if I found the recipe on this site or the Atkins site??? I'll go hunting for it and see what I find

i am SO happy to see that i am NOT the only breakfast skipper... but saddened to think that there ARE so many of us that skip THEEE one meal that literally BREAKS the FAST of going for SOOOOOOOOOO many hours without anything to eat.... and then.. to think that MANY of us toss a fiery gallon of CAFFEINE on TOP of that empty stomach...
lets try once and for all to break that habit..

time for a NEW good habit...
