I've had maggies cereal for the last 2 days - I love eggs and bacon, but find myself in need of some flaxseed input. (hopefully, output). this is getting really old.
I'm trying some different flavors of syrup on it to see what I like best. So far, just plain sugarfree pancake syrup is my favorite. I've got some DV syrups I haven't even opened yet.

I have to agree with you Kim, at first it seemed it was making me MORE hungry MORE often, but now I am experiencing the opposite.

Ok....I just have to say that reading posts with food in it, makes me want that food!!! I am SO having a craving for meatloaf now! *LOL*

Just poking my head in to read everyone's great breakfast ideas! Speaking of meatloaf, Sharron's cookbook, LOW CARB CUISINE has an awesome recipe that contains no tomato sauce OR bread crumbs, AND it has eggs in it. It's called "Surprise Meatloaf" or something.

Lots of other great breakfast ideas in that book too.
Way to go everyone on your breakfasts!

NOt obsessing over TOM anymore...not here yet...but not obsessing anymore anyway! I ate 3 strips of bacon and an egg with mustard and mayo againt this morning..DD laughed at me...but hey...right now it tastes good and is allowed on Atkins. On the way to work I had my shake--I figure if it is working...don't fix it!

Shimmer, you're not the only one with a meatloaf craving!

Tonight I made stuffed bell peppers...very simple ones with just a few carbs.
For the stuffing all I used was 1 lb. of lean ground beef, 1 onion (chopped), 3 slices of Roman Meal Carb Aware bread (which I heated in oven until dried out then crushed into crumbs), two raw eggs, a little salt, garlic powder and pepper. (this filling stuffed three medium bell peppers)

It wasn't exactly meatloaf (like the kind with crumbled crackers or, my favorite, oatmeal and there wasn't any brown sugar sweetened ketchup) but it was a decent substitute. Next time, I hope to have a little pork sausage to add to the mix and I might cook them in red bell pepper, if I can find a couple that will stand on end.

Oh...while we're on the topic of breakfast...
yeah, I had some. I ate pork rinds. :-)

Melissa - how do the stuffed bell peppers taste the next morning cold out of the fridge? I would love to make that and have leftovers for a quick breakfast!

Hmmm...never tried it. My leftover pepper is in the freezer. I can tell you that the meat didn't stay together as well as meatloaf "should." It might be a messy, on the go meal. Shouldn't take long to nuke it while you are in the shower and have it ready when you get out.

Kim, I got mine at Stater Bros., which is a wonderful So Cal grocery chain. (If they ever get big enough to sell stock, I'm buying). I just checked the Roman Meal site and it says:
"Availability: Arizona, California (Southern), Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, Washington D.C., and more areas coming!"

If you really want to try it, I'd be happy to send snail-mail a loaf your way. It should still be good by the time you get it. This was my first purchase. I'm keeping mine in the freezer so I can take out a slice as I need it. The bag says 8 carbs, 2 fiber, 6 net carbs. I read somewhere else that it has 9 carbs, 2 fiber and 7 net carbs per slice.

Have you guys tried Flax Loaf? I bought a loaf last week, its really good, a little on the dry side but I like things dry so I didnt mind. 9 carbs per slice with 2g fiber if I'm remembering off the top of my head correctly. Pretty close to that. Anyway, I thought I might try making bread crumbs out of it for baking.

i buy the franz kind when i want some.. but carbmaster LOVES him some ROMAN meal... when we married 25 years ago he told me that he was giving me 140.00 a week for groceries... and all he inSISTed that i get was REAL butter (i had eaten only parkay) and that i ONLY buy ROMAN meal for him..*L*
not bad.. i figured i could do that... but when i low carbed i talked him into using franz low carb.. 6 net.. but he REALLLLLLLLLLLLy wants his roman meal..*L*... like I LOOK like a woman who takes ultimatums?? *L* not..*L*
uh.. he is going to arizona to see his mom soon... if i cant get him to pick me some up i will DEFINITELY have you hook me up if you will..(god i love this site...) and will appreciate it GREATLY..
    thanks!
he was supposed to leave tomorrow... but do to unforseen circumstances... he is holding off ..not sure if for a few days or a couple weeks..

shimmy... my whole family has always eaten cold meat loaf... so if you can stomach the green pepper in the am.. then it should be fine for you... i always used RICE in mine..*sigh*.... but maybe i can grind up califlower or cabbage for that texture? eh?
