ok. Stating for the record - 2 slices of bacon is not a BREAKFAST!!!! but it's better than nuttin, as we say in the couch fauxtato thread.
had 2 egg/cheese omelet with a couple slices of bacon.

As I posted in the old thread, I had four pieces of Bacon. (at least I didn't say "Atkins Shake" for the seventh or eight day in a row)
I hope my metabolism picks up. I've not lost anything weight since I started eating breakfast. And I've found that if I do eat anything more than a shake or a couple piece of bacon then I have a hard time keep my calories within range.
I know...breakfast is supposed to be the most important meal of the day and it's supposed to jump start the metabolism...but I'm half tempted to give it up three or four days a week just to see if I start losing again.

Make breakfast less calorie and salt dense...try a bit of chicken salad...chicken/mayo/dill relish/salad seasonings or 1/2 C cottage cheese or even veggies and dip...if you are worried aobut calories...do a shake or something similar...but eat the breakfast or drink it or whatever!
I'm still in Kim!!! Just having some 'transitional' trouble, getting back into a work routine, especially this first week...lots of training and seminars...next week I'll get the schedule thing down and I'll be able to spend more time on here. This weekend I'm catching up on all the housework I didn't do during the week!
Breakfast this morning - String cheese and vegatable beef soup!
Keep up the good work everyone!

hey hey hey! great to hear shimmy! i know that any changes always take getting used to... just wanted ya to know youve been missed!

OK, Kim. For you. I'll give it one more month to see if I can get over this stall while eating breakfast.
I am drinking just a shake or eating just a couple slices of bacon for breakfast right now. But if I were to add in scrambled eggs or have bacon and a shake the same day it would be tough to stay below 1,500 calories.
But I guess you guys are right. Breakfast IS good for me, even if it's not my favorite time of day to eat.

yeeeeeeeeeehaw! thanks melissa! but sometimes i just have a boiled egg.. or rolled up ham ... piece of roasted chicken from the nite before ..
SOMETHING .. anything for starters to get that metabolism up and moving...
if you arent on induction levels.. maybe maggies cereal?

some almonds?
thanks for the commitment! we can do this!

Melissa, You may not be eating enough calories...I do best at around 1800-1900 as long as I am staying LC..or did unitl I got to 162. Now I am not certain what works except that I know if I don't swim/workout and eat like I do normally I gain...I average about 1800 calories and aobut 50 carbs right now...with wildly varying days...but you might try a few more calories for a week or so and see what happens...you may be hanging onto weight because your body thinks it is starving...just a shot in the dark here...

lori..its so hard to know isnt it? if i tracked my carbs and calories i might have a better idea... but since i went off of the initial induction i hardly ever add up the carbs i have.. (can you say complacent boys and girls? why yes we can! ) but i KNOW which ones have too many carbs... and i DO mentally add THOSE if i have them... i NEVER count calories... NEEEEEEEEEEVER... but then i dont really EAT alot of high calorie things.. so that isnt a big issue..
i think i WILL try to do a better job of my choices of lc mystery foods when i get off this induction thing monday... not to avoid higher CARBS per say.. but just to be more aware of which ones make me want to EAT AND EAT even LOW CARB stuff that is good..*L*

Lori, I was thinking the same thing. I was eating between 1,200 and 1,600 calories and doing fine until I hit this mini stall. I upped my calories to about 1,950-2,200 for four days. I'm on my third day of easing back to about 1,600-1,700 calories. I was planning to go back down to about 1,300-1,500 since I'm not very active.
If nothing happens in the next couple of weeks, I'll try something else. Maybe I'll go up on the calories and net carbs for awhile longer. I'm just afraid of gaining back what I've lost.

Post a couple of compolete menus somewhere melissa...sometimes someone else will spot something we don't think of...the calorie ting is something that just hit me...I need to find the website that gives suggestions on calories based on activity level and height and weight...it isn't perfect...but really helped me keep a handle on how much I was eating/in calories nad how much my body may have actually needed and I tried to keep it at that level or right around--100+/- and I lost nicely until June and started again in August and here I am again stuck pretty much...inches are changing slower too...but I have lots less to lose than I did when I started!
Lori, I took a look at my FitDay software and noticed that the stall came about the time of my last cycle, which ended Jan 9. There was nothing unusual about my diet at that time, and I didn't really worry about it then either. I tend to gain a pound or three before my cycle, lose during, and then gain a pound back immediately after...which in past has left me where I started before my cycle or a pound down. (confusing? It was to me at first, too.)
The only "food" I ate that was different was chocolate and pinto beans. Yes, I know you are probably gasping and thinking, "Oh my, no wonder she's not losing." But it was 85 percent cocoa chocolate and the most I ate in one day was half a serving (usually 1/4) which has 106 calories and 2 net grams of carbs. I ate it on Jan. 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17. Then again on Jan. 20 and 23. I had pinto beans yesterday and one day about two weeks ago.
With the exception of the days I deliberately upped my calories to the 2,000 range, I was within my calorie and carb limits. (I was within my carb limits even when I upped my calories.) I've not gone out of ketosis I first went in back in October.
Chocolate is my weakness and I had hoped the 85 percent with 212 calories and 4g of carbs per serving would be something I could occassionally fit into my diet. I also hoped I could have the occasional serving of pintos on a salad or sprinkled on pork rind nachos now and then. But now I'm not so sure.
I guess I need to cut both of these out of my diet completely for two or three weeks and see what happens. Then, I'll have to experiment by adding just one back in for a week or two and see if I hit the same stall.
