Alright, everybody. It's the New Year. Everyone's motivated, everyone expects the best. How many of you will be here checking in on Feb. 1? I hope lots!!

Here's where you can share your goals for the month, and check in with the rest of us travellers as often as you want to let us know how you're doing. Ask questions, rant, praise, whatever your heart desires.

I'm starting the Body Rx program Jan. 5. I'll be letting you know how it's going during the first 6 week cycle.

    Come on in and share!!

OK, I'm back. Goal for January, start the Body for Life program (exercise only). My DH is doing this with me. Yesterday, we bought a bench and a set of adjustable dumbells, today is garage clean (well, he's going to do that as I am at work in Boston) and the plan is to have everything set and ready for kickoff on Monday morning. My friend may also do this with us, too. I am really excited about this as I still want to lose another 10 pounds, but more importantly, need to tone flappy arms and jiggly butt.

    Hey Jen,

Great to see you in here again this new year. I'm hoping a few other familiar faces drop in!! I did LBWO yesteday, PLUS did about an hour of snow shoveling. Looks like more may be in store here, with the arctic front rearing its head this next week.

The BFL exercise routine looks good, although his intensity levels always scared me off a bit. I'd love to hear how that goes with you

John - I'll definitely let you know. Jeremy suggested that I do about half what BFL recommends initially and work my way into it - the intesity is a little daunting, so I thought it was a good idea.

Enjoy the shoveling! That's a pretty intense workout on its own.

    Hi,
I hope more than four or five make it to Feb. 1 this time around. I decided this month I'm going to up the intensity a notch, so on my HIIT elliptical I did my normal 40 min. workout in 35 mins, and added a set to the biceps/shoulders circuit. I'm starting school again on the 12th, so I lose two mornings a week to class (hence the upped intensity). I never did check my weight/body fat for last month to see if the no beer goal helped, but the new suit that I ordered an inch small fits a little loose in the waist and tight in the shoulders, so progress is happening.
John, I'm happy to see someone besides me gets to shovel snow, looks like we won't get more for a few days. So far I'm on track for superbowl sunday (even if it's only been two days!).
Jetsy, keep me posted on the BFL workout, I need to find a change in my routine for Feb.

Hope to see more people join in and succeed!
    'til Monday,

    Hey all,

Glad I got the driveway finished yesterday, cuz it's snowing more right now!!

Jeremy - I hope you make it. The dollar is burning a hole in my pocket...Also, you might check out the BodyRx workout. I like it. It's a 4 day split...Scott Connelly is the author.

    Where's all our exercise buddies????

Today my exercise was running across airports yet again. This was the worst trip I've had for flights. I've been lucky before not to have my first flight delayed....we got to run across Cinncinati airport this time. Man I enjoy airports! :S

Also lugging 2 peoples luggage around helped do my upper body work! Mom always takes the one carry on and I have to 2 big checked luggage. I'm normally winded by the time we make it to the car.

I'll be here with you guys once I FINALLY make it to my house. I'm at my Moms place for the night because my grandpa is in the hospital and we didn't get to leave there until way to late for me to drive another hour or so.

I'm off to bed. I've been up for way to long already today. Good luck everyone!

I know what you mean about airports. Why don't they put recliner chairs in those places. No comfortable places to sit, everything's so dang expensive...

There's about a foot more of snow this morning, guess I'll be out doing some shovelling again today. Also, some ab work before beginning the BodyRx program tomorrow

Lynda - good to see you in here again

I had read some information about Body Flex on the exercise forum. So when it was only going to be $8 I figured what the hey. I tried it today. Wowsers it is unique to say the least! I did about 15 min of it, and am going to workout with my roommate later when she gets off of work. I'm back at my apartment and going to start my persistant workout plan from now on! I don't have any traveling plans for this month so it should be easier than last, plus there arn't any holidays in the way! I'm ready to get this thing started all over again.

Started BFL today with upper body workout. I'm definitely going to feel it tomorrow, especially triceps. Tomorrow will be cardio.

Count me in for this month... I ended the month doing well, I missed christmas eve, day, So... I just about got to the gym every day, I believe I missed 4 days total...This month I am continuing on with my swimming - going to up to 55 laps, also going to add 2 days of treadmill for two of my swim days, as well as adding weights 2 days a week...Started my three sessions with personal trainer - got the scoop on the weights, which ones to start with, how much to set at, etc.
I made it thru the holiays maintaining the weight I had gotten before christmas.
I am happy with my progress, and am going to continue on with this woe.wol
tks for your help and support, it really helps

    Jen, Carolyn, great job!

Did my chest and biceps today, outside!! It was about 14 degrees out at the weight bench this morning. It's supposed to be 4-8 degrees tonight, so I'll see how dedicated I really am. good thing I'm starting a new program today.

Did half hour cardio today - BFL calls for 20 minutes, but I just can't think that clearly early in the AM to devise my own program so just went with what existed in the treadmill. A little sore from UBWO yesterday, but nothing bad - feel pretty stinkin' good today!
